OUR MISSION
We exist to create a more connected, compassionate, and confident experience for people with cancer and those who care for them. We make it easier to get answers, access high-quality care quickly, and feel supported throughout treatment and beyond.
Today, Thyme Care is a market-leading value-based oncology care enabler, partnering with national and regional health plans, providers, and employers to deliver better outcomes and lower costs for thousands of people across the country. Our model combines high-touch human support with powerful technology and AI to bring together everyone involved in a person’s cancer journey: caregivers, oncologists, health plans, and employers.
As a tech-native organization, we believe technology should strengthen the human connection at the center of care. Through data science, automation, and AI, we simplify complexity, improve collaboration, and help care teams focus on what matters most: supporting people through cancer.
Looking ahead, our vision is bold: to become a household name in cancer care, where every person diagnosed asks for Thyme Care by name. If you’re inspired to make cancer care more human and to help reimagine what’s possible, we’d love to meet you. Together, we can build a future where every person with cancer feels truly cared for, in every moment that matters.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
As a Senior Manager on the Data Ingestion & Care Enablement Team, you will join our broader Data org to help us build and maintain strong data pipelines capable of supporting Thyme Care’s mission. In this position, you will collaborate closely with our Product Manager and our Growth and Operations teams to understand, ingest, and accurately model healthcare data for new and existing customers, supporting updates and fixes throughout the life of the relationship.
In the course of your work you should expect to:
Grow and lead a team of data professionals responsible for ingestion, standardization, and reporting on administrative healthcare data (Eligibility, Medical & Pharmacy Claims, Prior Authorizations, ADT, etc.)
Gain a deep understanding of our data platform and contribute to improving our data models and pipelines using SQL and dbt
Own the technical direction for DICE’s ingestion and standardization pipelines, making pragmatic architecture decisions that improve reliability, scalability, and developer experience while meeting near-term customer needs
Remain hands-on in SQL and dbt, contributing production code, reviewing complex changes and data architecture, and stepping into critical delivery work when needed
Partner with DICE’s Product Manager and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical plans so we can design data models, pipelines, and analytics before building them
Work closely with both junior and senior ICs to identify and seize on growth and learning opportunities via regular coaching, setting a high quality bar, and appropriately matching ownership to skill level
Engage with external customers on an as-needed basis to clarify technical requirements, better understand data sources, debug issues, etc.
Ensure that internal customers, including downstream data teams, have fast, accurate, and reliable access to data, supporting their decision-making and operations with high-quality data pipelines
WHAT YOU HAVE
Experience leading and growing a data team at a health-tech startup, including serving as a people manager or mentor for technical ICs
An ability to “see beyond the question” to develop scalable solutions that are easily learned and reused by internal customers
Expertise in working with large healthcare datasets (eligibility, medical / pharmacy claims, prior auth, ADT, etc.) and an understanding of how they may vary by source
Experience designing data models to support both operations and analytics and building the data transformations in SQL to bring them to life
The ability to describe the tradeoffs between different data modeling techniques and drive commitment after decisions are made
WHAT LEADS TO SUCCESS

Clear communication. You can effectively convey your thoughts and ideas to both technical and non-technical colleagues and stakeholders.
Comfort with ambiguity. You have a successful track record working at scaling organizations, in fast-paced environments, and at ambitious startups. You navigate through challenges and find solutions in uncertain situations.
