Job description
# **Software Engineering Intern** **Ergo (YC W25) · San Francisco, CA · In-person** **$30–40/hour · Fall 2026 start preferred (Spring 2027 possible)** ## **About Ergo** Ergo is AI revenue infrastructure: the unified context layer for revenue teams. We ingest every customer interaction (calls, meetings, email, Slack, and more) and put that context to work across the bottom of the funnel, solving everything from CRM hygiene to forecasting to coaching and enablement in one interconnected platform. We’re growing 30% month-over-month, supporting some of the fastest-growing companies in the world: Rho, Pylon, Retell AI, Corgi, Warp Payroll, and more. We’ve raised $2.8M from Y Combinator, tier-1 investors, and notable angels including Kulveer Taggar. We’re a small team in San Francisco. ## **The Role** You’ll be a real engineer on a small engineering team, not a “special projects” intern. You’ll ship code to production that customers use: agent harnesses, dev ops, core infra, and product features across the stack. Our last intern shipped a customer-facing feature in his first few weeks that became one of our most-used touchpoints with customers. That’s the bar, and we’ll help you clear it. You’ll work directly with a dedicated mentor (a founding engineer) and the founders. Expect fast feedback loops and real ownership. ## **What We’re Looking For** We want someone who can join us for the fall term. Current students and pre-college builders (18+) are welcome. Beyond that, we care far more about what you’ve built than where you’ve studied or how long you’ve been coding. We’re happy to train the right person if they’re willing to learn. * **A project you’re proud of and can talk about in depth.** Not polish, not user counts. We want to hear the decisions you made, the problems you hit, and how you iterated through them. A messy project you actually wrestled with beats a clean tutorial clone every time. * **Genuine enthusiasm for engineering.** You build things because you can’t help it. * **A problem-solving background.** CS is great, but so is math, physics, or any field where you’ve learned to break down hard problems. Non-CS candidates: your projects will do the talking. ## **What You’ll Get** * Mentorship from a founding engineer, with direct access to the founders * Your code in production, in front of real customers, fast * One bigger experimental project you’ll own end-to-end for the duration of your internship, your chance to take a bet, learn something hard, and see it through * Exposure to the full stack of a modern AI product: integrations, data pipelines, agent infrastructure, and LLM-powered features ## **The Interview** Bring your project. We’ll ask why things behave the way they do, what broke, and how you fixed it. No standout project? Past work experience or club work counts too (a design team, a hackathon build, something you shipped for a student org), as long as you can go deep on it.
