About the Role:
Unleash your potential at Limit Break as we seek an exceptional Unity UI Engineer to spearhead an exciting new venture! We are embarking on a groundbreaking journey to develop a cutting-edge, mid-core, 3D mobile game from concept to reality.
At the outset, you'll collaborate closely with a small yet dynamic team to craft and refine the game's prototype, ensuring alignment with executive stakeholders. As the project gains momentum, you'll take charge of scaling the team from pre-production to full production, collaborating with leads and directors across various disciplines.

Responsibilities: What you’ll do
  • Design, implement, and maintain clean, modular UI code and prefabs in Unity (UGUI).
  • Work closely with UX/UI designers and product teams to bring mockups to life with smooth interactions and animations as defined by a clear GDD and spec.
  • Connecting UI with gameplay, systems, and backend logic.
  • Proactively optimize UI layout, responsiveness, and performance to ensure a seamless player experience.
Qualifications: Who you are and what you’ve done
  • 5-8 years of experience in game development, with a strong focus on Unity UI.
  • Deep understanding of Unity’s UI systems: UGUI, Canvas system, layout groups, anchors, and resolution scaling.
  • Strong understanding of Unity’s architecture, including best practices for MonoBehaviours, ScriptableObjects, Prefabs, Prefab Variants and Addressables.
  • Comfortable working in a live service environment with frequent updates and UI iteration.
  • A proactive mindset and pride in taking ownership of features from start to finish.
  • Can work autonomously, but communicate clearly, and collaborate with other engineers, designers and artists.
Nice to have. What an ideal candidate looks like:
  • Bilingual preferred in English and Japanese.
  • Has shipped one or more live service games targeting mobile with Unity.
  • Can build scalable, data-driven UI (bonus if you’ve done live-ops features like events, shops, daily rewards).
  • SPINE / Unity 2D animation experience.
  • Experience using Photoshop, and optimizing UI assets.
  • Familiar with asynchronous server calls and handling dynamic response data in the UI.
