About the Role

We're hiring an experienced Sr.SDE for our Industries team within Special Projects. The team turns our core platform into purpose-built solutions for specific verticals, such as restaurants, healthcare, real estate, automotive, home services, and fitness.

As an Sr.SDE, you'll build frontend-heavy full stack features that make our platform feel native to each industry. That means rich, interactive interfaces like floor plans, booking and scheduling views, industry dashboards, and guided setup flows. It also means configurable UI that adapts to each vertical's data models and workflows. You'll own the experience end-to-end, from component design to the APIs behind it, making sound technical trade-offs across UX, performance, scalability, and maintainability, while working closely with product, design, domain experts, and core platform teams.

This role suits someone who cares about polished, fast, intuitive interfaces, is comfortable owning the backend that supports them, learns new domains quickly, and uses AI tools to work faster and better.

What You'll Do
  • Build rich, interactive industry experiences in Vue 3 and TypeScript, such as visual floor-plan editors, scheduling and resource views, dashboards, and multi-step onboarding flows
  • Design reusable, configurable UI components that render industry-specific objects, fields, and workflows without forking the core product
  • Lead the technical design of frontend-heavy features, turn product and design concepts into high-quality interfaces, and shape the UX with designers and domain experts
  • Evaluate frontend and full stack architectural trade-offs, balancing experimentation speed, user experience, performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability as solutions mature
  • Own frontend performance, accessibility, and responsiveness across desktop, tablet, and mobile web, including views used live by staff on shared devices
  • Build and extend the APIs behind your features using Node.js/NestJS, with Firestore, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and Redis as data layers
  • Handle real-time and async UI states, such as live updates, optimistic updates, background job status, and conflict handling
  • Work with core platform and app teams to reuse and improve shared components and design system patterns
  • Own the full development lifecycle for significant features and initiatives: technical design, building, testing, deploying, measuring, and maintaining.

  • Mentor engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and technical guidance, sharing learnings and helping raise engineering quality across the team

  • What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on frontend architecture and complex web applications
  • Deep expertise in Vue (Vue 3 preferred) or a comparable modern framework, plus TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Experience building complex interactive UI, such as drag-and-drop, canvas or SVG rendering, calendars and timelines, or data-dense dashboards
  • Strong understanding of state management, component architecture, and frontend performance optimization
  • Solid backend skills to work end-to-end: API design, data modeling, and Node.js (NestJS a plus)
  • Experience with real-time data, async workflows, and keeping UI state consistent with backend state
  • A strong eye for UX, accessibility, and detail, with the ability to make good product decisions when specs are incomplete
  • Openness to using AI tools (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) to speed up development and improve code quality
  • Curiosity about how different industries work, and comfort learning from non-technical domain experts
  • Bonus Points
  • Experience with canvas libraries like Konva, Fabric.js, or PixiJS
  • Experience building design systems or shared component libraries
  • Experience with metadata-driven or schema-driven UI, such as form builders, custom objects, or configurable layouts
  • Background in vertical SaaS or industry-specific products, such as restaurant POS, booking, healthcare, or real estate tools
  • Familiarity with GCP services like Cloud Functions and Pub/Sub
  • Experience with frontend testing (unit, component, and end-to-end, e.g. Playwright)
  • Why Join Us?
  • You'll shape what our platform looks and feels like for entire industries, often building the first screen a new vertical's customers see
  • You'll build interfaces that business owners and their staff use live, every day, to run their operations
  • You'll join a small, high-leverage team that values product thinking, craft, and moving fast with confidence, including using AI to build smarter
