JOB SUMMARY 

As a Senior Robot Operator at Apptronik, you will serve as a highly skilled robot pilot and role model for Robot Operations, setting the standard for safe operations, data collection quality, efficiency, and protocol adherence.  At all times, you are expected to demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, sound judgment, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive Robot Park environment. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES or KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Safely set up environments and tele-operate robots according to established procedures and protocols.
  • Perform daily inspections and troubleshoot or escalate robot, equipment, and system issues.
  • Execute accurate, efficient, and high-quality data collection.
  • Identify, report, and escalate safety hazards, near misses, protocol deviations, or unexpected robot behavior; stop work when conditions are unsafe.
  • Train and support Robot Operators while modeling safe and consistent operating practices.
  • Maintain process documentation and contribute feedback to improve safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Support Robot Park operations and cross-functional teams as needed.
  • Travel to customer sites as needed for tele-operation and training (less than 25%). Opportunities for international travel may arise based on business needs. 

REQUIRED  QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and accountability.
  • Strong safety mindset, situational awareness, and sound judgment.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to following established procedures.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication, teamwork, and ability to train or coach others.
  • Ability to recognize, report, and appropriately respond to safety concerns.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to interact professionally with customers and external partners.
  • Experience writing or following detailed procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), or work instructions. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience operating technical equipment, robotic systems, machinery, or similar technology preferred. 
  • Experience with VR systems or tele-operation environments preferred. 
  • Experience training, mentoring, or supporting the development of others is preferred. 
  • Familiarity with Unity or other video game engines and SteamVR is a plus
  • Experience working in a safety-sensitive, manufacturing, robotics, warehouse, laboratory, or other controlled operational environment is a plus. 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking
  • Periods of sitting at a workstation and working on a computer or tele-operation equipment.
  • Ability to safely lift and/or move approximately 25–45 pounds at times.
  • Ability to move throughout operational areas and maintain awareness of surrounding people, equipment, and robotic systems.
  • Visual ability necessary to operate equipment, monitor robotic systems, and read printed and digital materials.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members during normal operations and when responding to safety or operational concerns.
