Job description

About Foodsmart:

Foodsmart is the leading Foodcare platform in the U.S., built to deliver nutrition-driven healthcare at scale. Powered by a national network of Registered Dietitians, Foodsmart combines personalized clinical nutrition care, behavior change tools, and food benefits to improve member health outcomes while lowering healthcare costs.

Our platform is designed to foster healthier food choices, drive lasting behavior change, and deliver sustainable health outcomes. Through our highly personalized, digital platform, we guide more than 3 million members—including those in employer-sponsored health plans, regional and national Medicaid managed care organizations, Medicare Advantage plans, and commercial insurers—on a tailored journey to eating well while saving time and money.

Foodsmart seamlessly integrates dietary assessments and nutrition counseling with online food ordering and cost-effective meal planning for the entire family, optimizing ingredients both at home and on the go. We partner with national and regional retailers across the U.S., many of whom accept SNAP/EBT, making healthier food more accessible. Additionally, we assist members with SNAP enrollment and management, providing tangible access to nutritious food. In 2024, Foodsmart secured a $200 million investment from TPG’s Rise Fund, which supports entrepreneurs dedicated to achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. This investment helps us expand our reach, particularly to low-income workers who are disproportionately affected by diet-related diseases.

At Foodsmart, our mission is to make nutritious food accessible and affordable for everyone, regardless of economic status. We are committed to a set of core values that shape our culture and work environment:

👥 Customer First - You start with the member and work backwards.
🚀 Make It Happen - You act with urgency, use data, and hold high standards.
🤝 One Team - You collaborate with respect and commit as a group.

Whether you're a dietitian, a commercial leader, or a technologist, working at Foodsmart means being part of a team that is passionate, supportive, and driven by a shared purpose. Join us in transforming the way people access and enjoy healthy food.

About the Role:

Reporting to our Chief Product Officer, this Senior Product Manager will be responsible for driving Foodsmart’s member activation. Every outcome we deliver for our members and clients starts with that first visit. You will own the funnel from first outreach to first visit, including the messaging, the channels, and the incentive structure that motivate members to show up.

Your customers are our members and our clients, who depend on us to turn eligible lives into engaged ones. You’ll lead a cross-functional pod to build out the systems and capabilities to achieve this goal and will work closely with Marketing, Data, and Partnerships to find what moves members from “eligible” to “booked” to “showed up,” and to do it at a cost that scales. This role is ideal for a product manager who is as comfortable in a funnel dashboard and an experiment readout as they are in the details of a text-message delivery issue or a broken scheduling flow.

You will:

Lead the Activation Pod & Funnel

  • Lead a cross-functional pod of Engineering, Design, Data, and Marketing partners with a clear mandate: increase the share of marketable members who complete a first visit
  • Own the Activation roadmap, from discovery through launch and iteration, including improvements and buildouts to key capabilities that drive activation (marketing tooling, sign-up / scheduling optimizations, incentive program structure)
  • Define and track funnel metrics from outreach to first visit (reach, booking, and show rates) by channel, client, and member segment
  • Run a disciplined experimentation program: clear hypotheses, fast readouts, and confident rollouts
  • Drive the incentive structure

  • Shape our member incentive strategy end to end: what we offer, to whom, when, and at what cost
  • Tie incentives to unit economics, including cost per activated member and the downstream impact on visits and client ROI
  • Test and tune incentive design within client, plan, and regulatory constraints
  • Shape Messaging & Channel Strategy
  • Shape messaging and strategy in partnership with marketing across all of our channels (calling, email, SMS, mobile, etc.)
  • Drive the technical enablement (deliverability, consent and opt-in logic, eligibility data, scheduling, and tracking) that lets our strategy evolve quickly
  • You are:
  • Metrics-driven and optimization-minded: you find the biggest drop-off, run the next test, and know signal from noise
  • A strong communicator who knows what will catch the attention of busy members and can clearly explain trade-offs to executives
  • Commercially minded: you understand cost per outcome and can defend an incentive on its return
  • Technical enough to be hands-on: you can read a data table, trace a bug, and talk through a delivery problem with an engineer
  • Empathetic toward members, many of whom are cost-conscious and navigating food insecurity
  • You have:
  • 5+ years of product management experience, ideally in growth, activation, or lifecycle marketing
  • A track record of moving funnel metrics through experimentation
  • Hands-on experience with messaging channels (SMS, email, push) and working knowledge of consent and privacy requirements such as TCPA and HIPAA
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with analytical tooling
