We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Group Accountant to join our growing Finance function, with a clear path toward a Financial Controller role. Reporting to the EMEA Group Financial Controller, you will take full ownership of the management accounts, deliver accurate and insightful financial reporting, and work closely with leadership teams, gaining direct exposure to group-level decision-making.

This is a senior, hands-on position suited to someone with strong analytical capability, exceptional organisational skills, and experience operating in dynamic, fast-paced, project-based businesses such as VFX, film, TV, gaming or animation.

Key Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Act as a central point of coordination during the close process, stepping in to perform one‑off reviews or analyses to maintain accuracy and consistency across entities within key accounts
  • Ensure accurate intercompany accounting by maintaining clean records and resolving reconciliation differences across all group entities each month
  • Review payroll reports and journals for accuracy, while serving as the key contact for outsourced payroll and HR to resolve discrepancies quickly
  • Oversee intangible asset accounting by reviewing additions, disposals, and amortisation, ensuring all capitalised costs are properly justified and documented.
  • Manage corporate tax provisions, stay ahead of legislative changes, and coordinate with HMRC and advisors to protect accurate financial reporting
  • Prepare insightful variance analyses and produce clear monthly performance commentary for leadership teams, highlighting key drivers, risks, and opportunities across the group
  • Support the implementation, enhancement, and ongoing optimisation of NetSuite and other financial tools, ensuring systems are configured effectively and aligned with group reporting needs.
  • Provide auditors (external, tax, other) with accurate schedules and analytical support, helping to facilitate a timely and well‑controlled audit cycle
  • Partner with the Financial Controller and CFO on ad hoc finance projects and group-wide initiatives, providing analytical input and hands-on execution.
  • Mentor and support junior finance team members, building capability and coordination across the wider finance function.

  • Strong understanding of IFRS and UK GAAP.
  • Experience in a project-based business (essential).
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel/Google Sheets capability.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Proactive self-starter who is highly organised.
  • Enjoys working collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft and Google Suite.
  • Netsuite experience is nice to have but not essential.
