Job description
More than one million people in the United States today are fighting blood cancer. While a traditional allogeneic stem cell transplant has been the best hope for many, the transplant itself can prove fatal or lead to serious conditions, such as graft vs. host disease. Orca Bio is a commercial-stage biotechnology company redefining the transplant process by developing next-generation cell therapies with the goal of providing significantly better survival rates with dramatically fewer risks. With our purified, high-precision cell therapies we hope to not only replace patients' blood and immune systems with healthy ones, but also restore their lives.

Position Summary: the Senior Director, Field Market Access will report to the Head of Market Access and lead our high-performing team of U.S. Payer Account Directors. This leader will provide strategic direction to maximize TREGZI’s access and value across payer and customer segments. The role will oversee field market access execution, payer strategy, the product value proposition, and tactical planning to support continued commercialization and lifecycle management. The Senior Director will also establish performance metrics and lead internal and external access and disease-education strategies.

  • Ensure market access insights and perspectives are integrated into brand strategy, commercialization plans, and lifecycle management objectives.
  • Evaluate healthcare market trends that may affect product access, reimbursement, pricing, and contracting strategy.
  • Direct and execute pricing and access strategies for TREGZI and potential future indications, including reimbursement analysis and, when appropriate, contracting and discount strategies.
  • Develop pre- and post-launch market engagement strategies that effectively communicate the brand’s value proposition and support patient access.
  • Lead market access analytics and evaluate team and business performance against defined KPIs.
  • Partner with Medical Affairs and other stakeholders to anticipate evolving payer evidence requirements and develop long-range evidence strategies.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing team while fostering a results-driven, customer-focused, and collaborative culture.
  • Develop and manage operating budgets consistent with corporate financial objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures and all applicable U.S. healthcare laws and regulations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant market access experience, including experience leading high-performing payer or field market access teams.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the U.S. healthcare system, payer landscape, reimbursement environment, and related access challenges and opportunities.
  • Deep functional expertise in market access, pricing and contracting, lifecycle management, and the integration of patient access and support services.
  • Strong financial and analytical capabilities.
  • Demonstrated success developing scalable, customer-focused market access strategies.
  • Strong understanding of the commercialization process, reimbursement integration points, and clinical development.
