About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to help assist with our month-end close process and manage complex general ledger accounting functions. This role is focused primarily on technical accounting, with additional operational support responsibilities. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with GL reconciliations, accrual accounting, and financial close processes, along with exceptional attention to detail in a fast-paced fintech environment.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Accounting (75%)

  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes

  • Prepare, review, and post complex journal entries

  • Perform GL, balance sheet, intercompany, and bank reconciliations

  • Analyze account activity and prepare variance explanations

  • Maintain fixed asset schedules, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposals

  • Manage lease accounting entries (ASC 842 or similar)

  • Prepare and maintain accrual schedules and supporting documentation

  • Support financial reporting, audits, and compliance requirements

  • Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies

  • Ensure accurate account coding and classification

Operational Support (25%)

  • Support AP processes, including invoice and credit card expense review

  • Document and improve accounting processes and procedures

  • Assist with training and process improvements

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • 4+ years of hands-on general ledger accounting experience

  • Strong experience with:

    • Month-end close processes

    • Bank and balance sheet reconciliations

    • Fixed asset accounting

    • Lease accounting (ASC 842 or similar)

    • Accrual accounting and journal entries

  • Corporate accounting experience

  • Experience working in fast-paced or growing organizations

Technical Skills

  • Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Dynamics 365, Workday, or similar

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Familiarity with GL reconciliation tools preferred

Competencies

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

  • Highly organized and methodical approach

  • Strong communication and documentation skills

  • Ability to independently manage deadlines and priorities

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Honest and transparent approach to experience and capabilities

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred

Preferred Experience

  • Fintech or mortgage lending experience

  • Big 4 audit or accounting background

  • Experience with accounting systems (NetSuite, LoanVision, Ramp, FloQast, or similar)

  • Multi-entity or multi-location accounting experience

  • Process improvement or accounting system implementation experience
