Sanctuary, a world leader in building AI-based control systems for humanoid robots, is seeking an exceptional Robotics Technician to help accelerate our R&D and Product Development activities. Typical work will include the assembly, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of our state-of-the-art robotic systems.
As a Robotics Technician, reporting to the Mechanical Design Manager, you will work alongside a cross-functional engineering team and be responsible for hands-on technical work that directly supports rapid prototyping, system integration, testing, and iterative hardware development.
Our Success Criteria

  • Support tool and fixture jig design, lab organization, and tool procurement and installation.
  • Partner closely with design and mechanical teams to support testing, debugging, and functionality experiments.
  • Expand your technical capabilities by lapping, polishing, and fitting miniature mechanisms under a microscope.
  • Provide critical feedback to the design team in the form of Design for Assembly input and structured failure analysis through assembly tear-downs following failures or post-test inspections.

    Qualifications
  • Technical degree or diploma from a Technical College or University such as biomedical technology, engineering technology, or instrumentation technology, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 3+ years of experience assembling and maintaining a wide range of electro-mechanical devices.

  • Extensive repair experience and basic to advanced custom fabrication experience such as computer or mobile device repair, watch repair, appliance repair, or similar.
  • CNC or manual machining experience, millwork, G-code programming, CAM such as Fusion 360 or MasterCam, 3D printing or additive manufacturing, plastic forming, laser welding, casting, or other relevant material manufacturing process experience is considered an asset but is not required. A willingness to learn and develop these skills is important.
  • CAD knowledge such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Onshape, or equivalent.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings and familiarity with proper drawing practices.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and feature tolerancing.
  • Skills
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and mechanisms.
  • Understanding of material properties of metals and plastics.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, technical, and analytical ability.

  • Traits
  • Positive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Comfortable working as part of a collaborative engineering team.
  • Strong execution focus and drive to complete tasks efficiently and thoroughly.
  • Adaptable in a fast-paced R&D environment with shifting priorities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through.
