About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Quality Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing team of SDETs responsible for delivering quality engineering across critical payment and settlement platforms. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, leading talented teams, influencing stakeholders across the business, and driving quality at scale. You will operate in a fast-paced environment where priorities evolve, multiple initiatives run in parallel, and collaboration across Product, Engineering, Operations, Security, and Platform teams is essential.

The successful candidate will combine strong people leadership with technical credibility, enabling them to guide automation strategy, make informed decisions in ambiguous situations, and advocate for quality throughout the software development lifecycle. This role requires someone who is comfortable navigating ambiguity, making decisions with incomplete information, and leading teams through rapidly changing priorities.

What You'll Be Doing

Lead and Develop High-Performing Teams

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a distributed team of SDETs
  • Create an environment focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and technical excellence
  • Support career development, coaching, performance management, and hiring activities

Drive Quality Engineering Excellence

  • Define and evolve testing strategies, automation frameworks, and quality practices
  • Partner with Engineering and Product teams to ensure quality is embedded throughout the development lifecycle
  • Identify opportunities to improve test coverage, automation effectiveness, reliability, and release confidence
  • Review technical approaches and provide guidance on automation, testing architecture, and quality risks

Manage Complex Programs and Stakeholders

  • Lead quality initiatives across multiple concurrent projects and workstreams
  • Build strong partnerships across Engineering, Product, Operations, Security, and Platform teams, influencing decisions and driving alignment
  • Balance competing priorities and make effective decisions in dynamic, fast-changing environments
  • Communicate risks, trade-offs, and delivery expectations clearly to stakeholders

Drive Continuous Improvement

  • Establish and track quality metrics, test effectiveness, automation coverage, and delivery performance
  • Champion process improvements and engineering best practices
  • Drive adoption of modern testing approaches, including AI-assisted quality engineering and automation

 What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience in Software Testing / Quality Engineering
  • 3+ years of people management experience leading SDET or QA teams
  • Proven experience leading quality engineering teams within product-based organizations
  • Strong technical background in test automation, quality engineering, and engineering best practices
  • Hands-on experience with Java and automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or similar
  • Experience testing distributed systems and microservices-based applications
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments and drive outcomes
  • Experience with CI/CD, cloud technologies, Docker, Kubernetes, or AWS is a plus
  • FinTech, Payments, Banking, or Settlement domain experience is preferred

Why Join Us?

  • Work on large-scale global payment platforms
  • Lead a talented and growing quality engineering team
  • Influence engineering practices across the organization
  • Solve complex technical and business challenges
  • Work in an environment where you can influence strategy, challenge the status quo, and drive meaningful change

If you're a technically credible people leader who thrives in complex environments, enjoys influencing stakeholders, and is passionate about building high-performing teams, we'd love to hear from you.
