Job description

We are seeking an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join a growing telehealth mental health organization focused on women’s mental wellness, including reproductive, maternal, and postpartum mental health.

This role is ideal for a compassionate and clinically experienced provider with a strong background in outpatient psychiatric care, medication management, and psychotherapy. The PMHNP will independently manage a patient caseload while collaborating with a remote care team to deliver accessible, evidence-based, patient-centered mental healthcare.

This is a flexible, remote opportunity with a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning.
  • Provide ongoing psychiatric medication management, including prescribing, monitoring, and adjusting medications as clinically appropriate.
  • Provide individual psychotherapy using evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, IPT, or other appropriate modalities.
  • Provide outpatient psychiatric care to women across various reproductive and postpartum stages.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on each patient's clinical needs, goals, and circumstances.
  • Monitor patient progress and make appropriate adjustments to treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with therapists and other healthcare providers to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
  • Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, medications, treatment options, and available resources.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
  • Facilitate referrals to additional mental health providers, specialists, or community resources when appropriate.
  • Participate in case consultations, clinical supervision, and team meetings as required.
  • Deliver high-quality patient care through a remote/telehealth setting.

Requirements

  • Active Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) certification and Nurse Practitioner license in good standing.
  • Active license to practice in at least one of the following target states: Florida (FL), Texas (TX), North Carolina (NC), Georgia (GA), New Jersey (NJ), Pennsylvania (PA), Illinois (IL), New York (NY), Virginia (VA), Washington, D.C. (DC), or Maryland (MD).
  • Outpatient psychiatric experience is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience providing psychiatric care and psychotherapy.
  • Experience providing both psychiatric medication management and psychotherapy.
  • Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and experience managing psychiatric medications.
  • Experience with evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as CBT, DBT, IPT, or similar approaches.
  • Experience working with women's mental health, reproductive mental health, maternal mental health, and/or postpartum populations is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach with strong cultural competence and sensitivity.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote clinical team.
  • Comfortable providing care through a telehealth/outpatient setting.
  • Strong documentation, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of clinical quality, ethics, and patient confidentiality.
