Position Summary

The Principal Software Engineer will lead the technical strategy, architecture, and evolution of critical, large-scale systems that support key business capabilities. This role will drive company-wide architectural initiatives, AI adoption, platform modernization, and engineering excellence while influencing senior leadership and aligning multiple engineering organizations toward long-term technical and business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and evolution of large-scale, distributed systems and platform architectures.
  • Define and drive company-wide technical strategy aligned with long-term business and product objectives.
  • Establish architectural principles, standards, and best practices to ensure scalability, consistency, and maintainability.
  • Drive the strategic adoption of AI-assisted development practices and AI-enabled capabilities across the organization.
  • Lead cross-functional and cross-organizational initiatives spanning multiple systems, domains, and business units.
  • Identify and mitigate systemic technical risks and drive long-term modernization and technical debt reduction initiatives.
  • Advance system reliability, scalability, performance, observability, and operational maturity across the organization.
  • Mentor and influence senior technical talent while promoting a culture of engineering excellence and high technical standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 12+ years of professional software engineering experience, including experience defining and driving technical strategy at an organizational or company-wide level.
  • Deep experience designing and evolving large-scale distributed systems and cloud-based platform architectures.
  • Strong hands-on experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure and cloud-native architecture patterns.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive technical alignment across multiple teams and organizations without direct authority.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with .NET full-stack and API development across frontend and backend technologies.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages, including Rust, C#, or JavaScript.
  • Experience with microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, serverless architectures, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or Bicep.
  • Strong knowledge of modern authentication and authorization mechanisms, including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and SAML.
  • Deep experience with observability, monitoring, distributed tracing, and reliability engineering practices.
  • Experience with CI/CD systems, automated testing, progressive deployment strategies, and modern software delivery practices.
  • Strong understanding of modern security practices, including secure coding, threat modeling, and vulnerability remediation
