About the team
The People Experience (PX) Operations team supports a seamless employee lifecycle across onboarding, offboarding, employee data management, leave administration, benefits support, and compliance reporting. We partner with employees, managers, and cross-functional teams across Shield AI’s international locations to ensure that core people processes are accurate, timely, locally compliant, and employee-centered.

About the role
The People Experience Operations Partner owns day-to-day people operations for employees across assigned international countries. This role manages employee lifecycle processes, country-specific employment documentation, employee changes, leave and benefits administration, and operational coordination with Payroll, Finance, Legal, and external providers.
You will work independently while staying closely connected to the central PX team and collaborating daily with U.S.-based peers across multiple time zones.

This position combines hands-on execution with process improvement, balancing consistent global practices with local employment requirements. The ideal candidate brings sound judgment, attention to detail, and experience navigating multi-country HR operations while delivering a high-quality employee experience across cultures and time zones.
What You'll Do
  • Deliver a consistent, locally relevant employee experience across assigned international locations, supporting employees and managers throughout the employment lifecycle.
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding with PX Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, IT, Payroll, and Legal to ensure employment documentation, eligibility checks, equipment, systems access, payroll, and benefits are addressed at the appropriate milestones.
  • Prepare employment contracts, amendments, and employee letters using approved local templates, coordinating review of nonstandard requirements with Legal or other specialists.
  • Maintain accurate HRIS records and personnel files, process employee changes, and reconcile information across systems and providers.
  • Coordinate payroll inputs, leave administration, and benefits support with internal teams and external providers.
  • Serve as a day-to-day operational contact for employees, managers, local providers, and employers of record (EORs); resolve queries, monitor service delivery, and escalate complex or nonstandard matters.
  • Support new-country and entity launches by coordinating assigned operational workstreams for employment processes, systems, payroll, benefits, and employee support, including transitions from EOR arrangements.
  • Partner with Global Mobility to coordinate documentation and milestones for immigration, work authorization renewals, relocations, and international transfers.
  • Support managers through performance reviews, promotion cycles, talent reviews, and development programs by explaining established processes, coordinating activities, and tracking deadlines.
  • Maintain process guides, employee resources, and compliance calendars, partnering with specialist teams on reporting and audit requirements.
  • Use employee feedback and operational reporting to identify service gaps, resolve recurring issues, and improve the employee experience.
  • Implement process improvements, automation, and system enhancements within established global standards and local requirements.
  • Collaborate across countries and time zones, maintaining effective handoffs and close alignment with U.S.-based peers and the central PX team.
  • What You'll Bring

    Required qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in People Operations, HR operations, or a related HR role, including hands-on responsibility for employee lifecycle processes across multiple countries.
  • Experience managing onboarding, offboarding, employment documentation, leave administration, payroll inputs, and benefits administration in partnership with internal teams and external providers.
  • Practical understanding of employment requirements in the countries supported, with sound judgment about when to involve Legal or other specialists.
  • Strong HR systems and data skills, including maintaining accurate records, reconciling information, developing operational reports or dashboards, and translating data into actionable insights.
  • Ability to work independently within established policies and processes, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines across multiple countries and time zones.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to provide responsive, empathetic support to employees and managers while handling sensitive information appropriately.
  • Demonstrated success resolving operational problems and improving processes through automation, system enhancements, or simpler ways of working.
  • Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with UKG, Workday, Jira, or similar HR and service-management platforms.
  • Experience working with EOR partners, international mobility processes, new-country launches, or entity transitions.
  • Experience in a growing technology, engineering, or defense business.
  • Additional language skills relevant to the countries supported.
