Occupational Therapist – Specialist Education Setting

Location: North Warwickshire
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full-Time
Salary: £37,602 - £45,426 (including paid school holidays) + excellent benefits

Our client is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join their clinical team at a specialist independent day school in North Warwickshire. This rewarding role is based across the school's secondary provision, supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, speech, language and communication needs, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties.

Working as part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering therapeutic support that enables pupils to thrive both academically and emotionally. The school's therapeutic approach focuses on creating safe, nurturing environments that promote connection, learning, development, and positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality occupational therapy assessments and interventions for children and young people with complex additional needs.
  • Deliver individualised, outcome-focused therapeutic programmes based on clinical assessment and formulation.
  • Support the development of therapeutic learning and living environments across the school.
  • Work collaboratively with education staff, families, and other clinicians to ensure pupils receive joined-up, person-centred support.
  • Embed therapeutic strategies into everyday school practice to maximise engagement, participation, and independence.
  • Deliver consultation, workshops, training, and guidance to educational teams.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the clinical service and therapeutic provision.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and uphold professional standards.

Requirements:

  • HCPC registered Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience delivering therapeutic interventions for children and young people with complex needs.
  • Strong understanding of neurodevelopmental conditions, developmental trauma, and special educational needs.
  • Experience supporting teams around a child or young person to create clinically informed environments.
  • Excellent communication, training, and leadership skills.
  • Highly organised with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Passionate about achieving the best possible outcomes for children and young people.
