- ### **Position Overview**
Join **Veryfi** as a **Node.js Developer & Technical Account Manager (LATAM)** and play a critical role in building, deploying, and supporting **WhatsApp-based loyalty and promotional campaigns** for leading **CPG brands across Latin America**.
This hybrid role combines **hands-on backend development**, **customer-facing technical ownership**, and **campaign operations**. You will design and build WhatsApp bots using Node.js, integrate with Veryfi’s OCR & data extraction APIs, and act as the technical lead for campaigns—from kickoff to post-campaign reporting.
You’ll work directly with brands, agencies, and internal teams to ensure campaigns launch smoothly, scale reliably, and deliver measurable business results.
## **Key Responsibilities**
### **WhatsApp Bot Development (Node.js)**
* **Bot Architecture & Development:** Design, build, and maintain WhatsApp bots using Node.js for loyalty programs, promotions, and automated customer journeys
* **API Integrations:** Integrate WhatsApp bots with Veryfi APIs (OCR, Lens, document processing), databases, CRM tools, and third-party services
* **Campaign Logic:** Implement business rules for points accumulation, rewards redemption, fraud prevention, validations, and user segmentation
* **Scalable Backend Services:** Build reliable, scalable backend services using Node.js, REST APIs, webhooks, and event-driven flows
* **Code Quality:** Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices
### **Loyalty Campaign Execution (End-to-End)**
* **Campaign Build-Out:** Translate campaign mechanics into technical flows (receipt validation, product matching, points, rewards, rankings)
* **Go-Live Ownership:** Own technical readiness for launches, including testing, validations, and production deployment
* **Fraud & Edge Cases:** Implement safeguards against fraud, duplicate submissions, and abuse scenarios
* **Post-Launch Support:** Monitor campaign performance, fix issues quickly, and iterate based on real user behavior
* **Reporting Support:** Assist with technical reporting, data extraction, and campaign performance insights
### **Technical Account Management (LATAM)**
* **Client Technical Lead:** Act as the main technical point of contact for LATAM clients during onboarding and active campaigns
* **Solution Design:** Advise customers on best technical approaches for their loyalty and promotional use cases
* **Issue Resolution:** Troubleshoot production issues, API errors, WhatsApp flow problems, and data discrepancies
* **Clear Communication:** Explain technical concepts in simple terms to non-technical stakeholders
* **Escalation Handling:** Coordinate with internal engineering, product, and support teams when deeper intervention is needed
### **Collaboration & Continuous Improvement**
* **Cross-Functional Work:** Collaborate with Product, Sales, Support, and Marketing teams to improve campaign delivery
* **Process Improvement:** Identify patterns and suggest improvements to campaign templates, bot flows, and backend architecture
* **Documentation:** Create and maintain technical documentation for bots, integrations, and campaign flows
* **Product Feedback:** Share real-world client feedback with product and engineering teams
## **Requirements**
### **Experience & Background**
* 3+ years of experience as a **Node.js / Backend Developer**
* Experience building **chatbots, messaging platforms, or automation systems** (WhatsApp preferred)
* Startup or fast-paced environment experience strongly preferred
* Experience working with **LATAM customers** or regional campaigns is a big plus
### **Technical Skills**
* Strong proficiency in **Node.js (ESM preferred)**
* Experience with **REST APIs, webhooks, async flows, and background jobs**
* Familiarity with **WhatsApp Cloud API** or similar messaging APIs
* Experience with databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar)
* Understanding of authentication, security, and API best practices
* Experience supporting **production systems and live campaigns**
