Job Description
About PayJoy
PayJoy, a Public Benefit Corporation, is a mission-first credit provider dedicated to helping under-served customers in emerging markets to achieve financial stability and success. Our patented technology for secured credit provides an on-ramp for new customers to enter the credit system. Through PayJoy’s point-of-sale financing and card offerings, customers gain access to a modern quality of life. PayJoy’s credit also allows our customers to seize opportunities as micro-entrepreneurs, and acts as insurance for tough times. Through our cutting-edge machine learning, data science, and anti-fraud AI, we have served over 18 million customers as of 2025 while achieving solid profitability for sustainable growth.
This role

We are looking for a Business Operations Supervisor with proven hands-on experience in AI-powered workflows and automation to identify pain points across all of PayJoy Ecuador's business functions and turn them into scalable, automated solutions. This person will be embedded in the operations team but will work cross-functionally with commercial, merchant ops, and support, acting as the internal expert who knows how to leverage AI agents, LLM integrations to eliminate manual work, accelerate processes, and unlock operational scale. This role owns the full cycle: from diagnosing where friction exists, through designing and building AI-augmented automations, to measuring their impact and iterating.
Responsibilities
  • Map and prioritize operational pain points across all business functions in Ecuador (commercial, onboarding, merchant support, internal ops) through structured process audits and stakeholder interviews, maintaining a living roadmap of automation and AI opportunities ranked by impact and feasibility.

  • Design and build production-ready AI-augmented workflows, including LLM-based document processing, intelligent routing, AI agents for repetitive decision-making tasks, and OCR pipelines, using platforms such as Make, n8n, or equivalent, integrated with AI providers (OpenAI, Gemini, Anthropic, or others).

  • Build and maintain end-to-end process automations across the business (onboarding flows, internal approvals, data validation, reporting pipelines, support request routing) using no-code/low-code tools and APIs, eliminating manual handoffs and improving reliability at scale.

  • Collaborate with commercial, operations, and support teams to deeply understand their workflows, co-design solutions with them, and drive adoption, translating operational needs into working automations, not just proposals.

  • Develop and maintain operational dashboards and process performance reports (cycle times, SLA compliance, error rates, conversion) that give leadership real-time visibility and enable data-driven decisions.

  • Evaluate and implement new AI tools, integrations, and automation platforms as the landscape evolves, staying current on what's possible and proactively bringing relevant innovations to the team.

  • Document all automations and AI workflows clearly, establish reliability and monitoring practices, and measure the impact of every initiative, presenting results to leadership and iterating based on outcomes.

  • Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Systems Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience: At least 2–3 years of hands-on experience building process automations in a business or operations context, using platforms such as Make, n8n, Zapier, or equivalent. Must have real production examples to show. Experience in fintech, retail-tech, or a high-growth startup is a strong plus.

  • Technical Skills: Hands-on proficiency with at least one automation platform (Make, N8N, or equivalent) and a CRM tool (Zoho CRM or similar). Comfortable with data tools including Google Sheets and a BI or dashboarding platform (Hex, Looker, Tableau, or similar).

  • Language: Fluent Spanish (native or equivalent) and intermediate to advanced English

  • Specialized Knowledge: Proven ability to independently lead a process improvement cycle from end to end: diagnosing the problem, designing the solution, building or coordinating implementation, and measuring results.

  • Benefits
  • 100% Company-funded health insurance for employee and immediate family members.
  • Life insurance
  • Dental plan
  • Phone finance, headphone benefit, home office equipment allowance and wellness perks
  • Individual retirement plan 3%
  • 20 days of vacations
  • $2,000 USD annual Co-working Travel perk
  • $2,000 USD annual Professional Development perk
  • Catered lunches
