Job description

About Paytient:
We’re on a mission to help people better access and afford care.

Every day, millions of people, and their loved ones, need to see a doctor. For most of us, that moment is an uncertain one - we’re unsure of what’s wrong, who to go to, how long it’ll take to be seen, when we’ll feel better, and what it’ll cost.

Paytient partners with thoughtful employers and health plans who understand the impact of that moment and want to ensure that every one of their plan members are easily able to access and afford care. Our clients understand that an improved ability to self-pay for care changes patient behavior and creates value for the health plan.  This founding belief is becoming an emerging standard of care in health plan design and is now, in fact, a mandatory capability in some governmental health plans. Founded in 2018, Paytient is now part of nearly 6,000 employer health plans and providing certainty that people are better able to access and afford care.

We’re looking for passionate, collaborative builders to join our team and help us create a future where everyone can more easily access and afford care.

Paytient is looking for a passionate and collaborative builder to join our Member Growth team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in how Paytient connects individuals with our affordability platform, giving them the confidence to say "yes" to care when they need it, not just when they can afford it. We partner with thoughtful employers and health plans to ensure that every one of their plan members can easily access and afford care, creating a new standard of care in health plan design.

About The Role: Paytient is seeking a hybrid Marketing Automation Specialist expert to join our team. This role is a 50/50 split between lifecycle strategy and the technical management of our Martech stack. You will use marketing automation tools to build, maintain, and optimize impactful, multi-channel campaigns that drive member engagement KPIs. Beyond execution, you will be the architect who enables the rest of the Member Growth and Lifecycle teams to scale by building the playbooks and infrastructure required to help more people than ever before.

What You'll Do Here:

  • Martech Stack Architecture: Spearhead the utilization of advanced marketing automation platforms, notably Iterable, to orchestrate sophisticated campaigns across the member lifecycle, with a focus on ensuring confident deliverability as our eligible population grows rapidly.
  • Lifecycle Strategy & Execution: Develop and execute nuanced strategies leveraging segmentation and personalization across diverse channels such as email, SMS, and push notifications.
  • Operational Scaling & Enablement: Design and configuration of intricate workflows, ensuring seamless operation, security, and efficiency to enable other team members to scale their efforts.
  • Campaign Deployment & QA: Develop and execute HTML email campaigns, ensuring flawless rendering across various email clients through rigorous QA testing and optimization.
  • Data Analysis & Deliverability: Conduct in-depth analysis of campaign performance metrics and deliverability, applying analytical methodologies to derive actionable insights and refine marketing strategies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with CS, Product, and Brand Marketing to ensure marketing automation strategies align with business objectives and the member experience.

About You:

  • Experience & Track Record: 3–5 years of experience in consumer marketing, growth marketing, or marketing operations, ideally within the healthcare or B2B2C space.
  • Operational Expertise: Significant hands-on experience in architecting and scaling programs within a major Marketing Automation Platform (MAP) like Iterable, HubSpot, Marketo, or Braze.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in building on-brand emails with HTML/CSS and facilitating the communication of triggers and data between different platforms.
  • Strategic Thinker: You are engaged in the strategic rationale behind marketing decisions as much as their execution, with the ability to translate business goals into actionable roadmaps.
  • Analytical Rigor: Proficiency with monitoring marketing analytics and a strong ability to derive actionable insights from complex datasets.
  • Collaborative Spirit: A low-ego, tenacious team player who thrives on designing scalable systems and solving complex, ambiguous problems.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Experience in a high-growth startup environment.
  • Proficiency using SQL in a BI tool such as Looker or Tableau.
  • Familiarity with supporting tools such as Litmus, Lob, and Heap.
  • Previous experience in B2B2C or fintech industries.

Benefits We Offer for Full-Time Roles:

  • Medical, dental and vision insurance
  • $4,400 annual HSA contribution
  • Paytient Health Payment Account (HPA)
  • Monthly lifestyle spending stipend
  • Five weeks of annual PTO
  • Week-long fully paid 'summer break' for all employees!
  • Ten weeks of bonding leave for new parents
  • Two weeks of caregiver leave
  • Employer paid short-term and long-term disability
  • 401k plan access with a 4% employer match
  • Stock options in Paytient
  • ...and more!
