Job Description

About us:

Aeva’s mission is to bring the next wave of perception to a broad range of applications from automated driving to industrial robotics, consumer electronics, consumer health, security, and beyond. Aeva is transforming autonomy with its groundbreaking sensing and perception technology that integrates all key LiDAR components onto a silicon photonics chip in a compact module. Aeva 4D LiDAR sensors uniquely detect instant velocity in addition to 3D position, allowing autonomous devices like vehicles and robots to make more intelligent and safe decisions.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Manufacturing Technical Program Manager specializing in Lidar assembly and PCBA fabrication to join our dynamic team. As a Technical Program Manager you will play a crucial role coordinating with the test engineering team and contract manufacturers in ensuring the production lines for NPI and mass production meet product quality, delivery, cost and reliability of our Lidar product. Your expertise in mechanical assembly, adhesive dispense, SMT processes, optical assemblies, GR&R, equipment maintenance and calibration, failure analysis, OCAP, statistical process control and manufacturing execution system (MES) software will be vital in driving our manufacturing processes towards excellence.

What you'll be doing:
  • Bring up Lidar assembly line from NPI phase to mass production.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, quality, operations, and supply chain to define project scopes and objectives.
  • Develop equipment and processes with contract manufacturer (CM) that meet product design specifications.
  • Develop and analyze line design with contract manufacturer to meet annual production targets.
  • Develop and track Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) metrics. Identify gaps and corrective actions needed to bridge to target performance.
  • Manage BOM for production ramp and mass production.
  • Collaborate with engineering and CM to install assembly line equipment, perform GR&R analysis, review work instructions and operator training requirements, and track yield, line availability and takt time.
  • Drive DFM/DFA/DFT and PFMEA to ensure production manufacturability.
  • Establish yield tracking / reporting methodology and drive corrective actions with engineering and CM. Identify yield bridge to line targets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, manufacturing, and quality assurance to troubleshoot issues and improve product performance.
  • Ensure on time delivery from NPI through mass production.
  • Drive the development and implementation of automation and line scaling supporting production volume projections.
  • Manage quality in the line by routinely monitoring KPIs and present reports to operations and management teams.
  • Prepare roadmap and capacity plans for product ramp and next-gen NPI.
What you'll have:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Optical engineering, or related field) or equivalent practical experience.
  • Prior experience with TeamCenter, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Proficient in data analysis and interpretation, using statistical techniques and software tools such as JMP.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
  • Experience with Engineering Change Orders and Product LifeCycle management.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing / technical operations in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
Nice to have:
  • Prior experience with LiDAR systems
  • SolidWorks experience
What's in it for you:
  • Be part of a fast paced and dynamic team
  • Very competitive compensation and meaningful equity
