The Role

We are looking for an SEO Manager to join our growing team at Wpromote! Our ideal candidate will have a passion for establishing strong relationships with their clients, a natural curiosity for website optimization, and a knack for being proactive in pursuing growth opportunities for their book of business. The anticipated annual salary for this role will range from $69,000 - 80,000, based on consideration of a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, education and certifications, competitive benchmarks, scope of responsibility, market dynamics, geographic location, and respective state’s salary threshold for exempt employees. At Wpromote, pay ranges are subject to change and are based on specific market medians for similar jobs according to third-party salary benchmark surveys. Individual pay within that range can vary due to skills, experience, and available budget. The total compensation package for this role will include benefits (listed above).

  • This position may be performed remotely in most states within the US, with some exclusions
  • While this role offers the flexibility to work remotely, we have office hubs in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York, where you can join in on learning and development opportunities, fun events, take advantage of a space to work, and collaborate in person!

You Will Be
  • Working on multiple client websites and digital ecosystems by implementing changes across technical SEO, content, and AI search optimization in order to comply with evolving search engine and AI platform best practices.

  • Optimizing for visibility across both traditional search engines (Google, Bing) and AI-driven discovery platforms (e.g., generative engines, assistants, and answer engines).

  • Owning client retention and proactively identifying profitable growth opportunities across assigned accounts.

  • Building strong client relationships through consistent communication, including virtual meetings, email, and ongoing strategic discussions.

  • Strategizing with team members to develop integrated SEO and AI Search solutions that drive discoverability, authority, and performance.

  • Staying current on developments across SEO and AI Search, including industry trends, algorithm updates, LLM advancements, and competitive activity.

  • Creating reports and dashboards to gauge performance across rankings, traffic, and AI-driven visibility, and to demonstrate business impact.

  • Presenting insights and strategic recommendations to clients to help shape their content, technical SEO, and AI Search strategies.

  • Supporting new business and organic growth opportunities by contributing SEO expertise to solution development, proposals, and cross-functional sales efforts.

  • Working with a client’s development, content, and product teams to implement changes to their website and digital presence, including structured data, content systems, and AI-readable formats.

  • You Must Have
  • 2-3 years experience doing SEO work for clients within an agency environment

  • Minimum 1 year of client facing experience

  • Desire to lead strategy for multiple large growth SEO and AI Search clients

  • Strong understanding of SEO fundamentals including keyword research, search intent, technical SEO, and website architecture

  • Familiarity with how AI search systems (e.g., LLMs, generative engines) retrieve, interpret, and surface content

  • Experience with keyword research, competitive analysis, and emerging AI search tools

  • Familiarity with Google Analytics (GA4), Google Search Console, and performance measurement across both traditional and AI-driven search environments

  • Understanding of content strategy, including entity-based optimization, topical authority, and structured data

  • Experience working directly on websites (general knowledge of CMS such as WordPress, Shopify, or Magento is a plus)

  • Ability to quickly pick up new skills and adapt to a rapidly evolving search landscape

  • Excellent multi-tasking skills with the ability to hit and exceed deadlines required

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral while paying close attention to detail

  • A proactive approach to collaborating with others and managing workload
