Job description

IT Manager (Reno/hybrid)

The true B2B data pioneer, Bombora connects the B2B ecosystem in a one-of-a kind Data Cooperative—enabling a holistic view of an account’s research and consumption behavior. From this data, Bombora derives actionable insights that make it possible for brands, agencies, and publishers to identify, understand, and identify their prospects and customers, throughout the buyer and user experience, across the activation platforms of choice.

We are actively seeking an exceptional IT Manager who will provide problem-solving skills, mentoring, and leadership for our IT Team, while taking ownership of our various SaaS and in-house systems. This role requires versatility and the ability to handle numerous and sometimes competing tasks. The IT Manager must be service-oriented and a team player who enjoys helping people. This employee is empowered to use their skills and knowledge to solve problems, improve processes, and support teams across the organization — including guiding the team's responsible adoption of AI-powered tools and workflows.

Note: this role is hybrid and must be able to work in our Reno office at least 2 days a week.

Duties and Responsibilities

People Leadership & Culture

  • Team Leadership: Foster a collaborative, positive team culture and mentor IT Engineers.
  • Career Development: Guide direct reports through regular 1-1s, performance reviews, and structured career pathing.
  • SLA Accountability: Ensure the internal Help Desk consistently meets or exceeds defined SLAs.

Core Operations & Infrastructure

  • Identity & SaaS Management: Own and optimize core collaboration tools (Google Workspace/M365, Slack, Zoom, Jira) and coordinate all SaaS purchases and renewals.
  • Device Management (MDM): Oversee MDM solutions (Jamf, Intune) to secure and manage a hybrid fleet of macOS and Windows endpoints.
  • Onboarding & Offboarding: Standardize and automate user lifecycle workflows to ensure zero-day productivity and secure, immediate offboarding.
  • Office Tech & Events: Manage physical office networks, Wi-Fi, and AV infrastructure, including technical execution for major internal events (e.g., All Hands, CKO).

Finance & Vendor Management

  • Procurement & Inventory: Manage hardware and software vendor relationships while maintaining a strict inventory of physical assets and software licenses.
  • Budget Optimization: Monitor SaaS utilization to eliminate redundant tools, optimize license tiers, and assist leadership with spend forecasting.

Security, Compliance & AI Governance

  • Security & Compliance (SOC 2): Partner with engineering to enforce endpoint security (MFA, patch management) and assist with evidence collection for SOC 2 Type II audits.
  • AI Integration & Tooling: Evaluate, pilot, and deploy AI-driven IT tools (e.g., AI ticketing, scripting assistants) to accelerate support and automation.
  • AI Policy Ownership: Define and maintain the company's AI usage and data-handling policies in close partnership with Security and Compliance.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and people-management skills, with the ability to coach and develop a technical team
  • Excellent problem-solving and prioritization skills across competing, time-sensitive tasks
  • Service-oriented mindset with the ability to communicate clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Sound judgment evaluating new AI tools and vendors for security, privacy, and compliance risk before adoption
  • Working knowledge of SOC2 or similar compliance frameworks

Education and Experience

  • Completion of an IT or Information Systems training program or a degree in Information Technology or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a lead or managerial role in IT
  • Experience managing or piloting AI-powered IT tooling (e.g., AI helpdesk/ticketing assistants, AI-driven monitoring, LLM-based scripting or documentation tools)
  • Experience supporting SOC2 or similar compliance audits
  • Relevant certifications a plus (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CompTIA Security+)

Compensation Package

The salary range for this position is $130-$150 (base and bonus), along with equity (options). Actual compensation may vary and will be based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
