Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced HR & Payroll Specialist to join our People Service Delivery team in Europe, supporting employees and managers across multiple European countries, with a particular focus on the Baltic and Balkan regions.

The role is responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and compliant services across the assigned countries, including employee and manager support, HR administration, payroll and other people service delivery related activities.

The successful candidate will have hands-on experience across 4–5 or more European countries, a strong understanding of local requirements, and the ability to collaborate effectively with employees, managers, internal HR teams, Finance, Legal, and external partners across multiple jurisdictions.

The role requires strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, and a service-oriented approach, as well as the ability to contribute to process improvements, HR systems enhancements, and regional People Service Delivery initiatives.

What you'll do:
  • Act as the first point of contact for People Service Delivery topics, processing requests raised by employees, managers, and other internal stakeholders.

  • Perform data entry in HR systems in accordance with defined HR processes. Execute country-specific People Service Delivery activities for multiple countries within the assigned scope in Europe, in accordance with local requirements (e.g., generation of employee contracts).

  • Manage the end-to-end monthly payroll process for multiple European countries, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant payroll execution.

  • Coordinate with external payroll partners and internal HR, Finance, and Legal teams to ensure smooth payroll processing and resolution of payroll-related issues.

  • Review salary adjustments, bonuses, commissions, overtime, and statutory payments included in the payroll process.

  • Review payroll calculations and reports, reconcile discrepancies, and maintain accurate payroll records and data integrity across HRIS and payroll systems.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable local tax, labor, social security, and other statutory requirements, monitoring legislative changes and assessing their impact on payroll processes.

  • Support internal and external payroll audits by preparing and providing required documentation, reports, and supporting information.

  • Provide timely and efficient resolution of requests, resolving the majority of tickets at first point of contact. Analyse requests that cannot be resolved immediately by identifying the nature of the request, diagnosing the issue, and routing it to the appropriate team.
  • Participate in People Service Delivery projects and initiatives aimed at improving, standardizing, and streamlining processes across Europe.

  • Contribute to HR systems maintenance and enhancement activities by identifying issues and improvement opportunities, defining and testing solutions, and supporting their implementation for the countries within scope.

  • What we are looking for:
  • 3–7+ years of international HR and payroll across multiple European markets.

  • Proven experience managing payroll in at least 4–5 European countries, including coordination with internal stakeholders and external payroll partners. Experience in the following countries is particularly valuable:

  • Baltic Countries: Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia

  • Balkan Countries: Slovenia, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Serbia, North Macedonia

  • Experience managing HR and payroll operations in additional European countries is considered a strong advantage.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment, payroll, and statutory requirements across the Baltic and Balkan regions.
  • Experience working with external payroll partners and vendors.

  • Hands-on experience with HRIS and payroll systems, such as Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, ADP, SD Worx, TMF, Safeguard Global, or similar platforms.

  • Ability to navigate differences in local legislation, payroll practices, and compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions.

  • English: Fluent, both written and spoken (required).

  • Additional European languages: considered as an advantage.

  • What you’ll love about us:
  • We care about your individuality by giving you freedom to grow and create within the company, regardless of your position.
  • Be part of a company with a truly global footprint, working with leading brands, platforms, and publishers across 90+ markets.
  • We foster a dynamic environment where creativity, collaboration, and bold ideas are encouraged and celebrated.
  • Join a diverse, multicultural team that values and embraces different perspectives, experiences, and talents.
  • At Aleph, your work directly contributes to connecting brands and consumers in meaningful ways, shaping the future of digital advertising.
  • Learn from the best: Our state of the art workshops guarantee the latest insights into digital advertising.
