Job description

About Town

Town is an AI-powered assistant that connects to your tools to do real work on your behalf — triaging your inbox, drafting in your voice, managing your schedule, and running workflows across everything you use. It knows you deeply and gets sharper over time.

About the Role

Town is a product-led growth (PLG) company, and the product itself is our best growth channel. We're looking for a Growth Engineer who gets genuine joy out of moving the numbers: pulling people into Town, getting individuals onto teams, getting teams onto paid, and turning teams into enterprise customers.

The skillset overlaps heavily with our Product Engineers — you'll ship real product, fast. The difference is what makes you tick. As a Growth Engineer at Town, you're energized by things like optimizing the invite flow, the conversion funnel, and the dashboard: invites per user, free-to-paid conversion, whether credits are calibrated right, how to make every loop faster, more delightful, and more discoverable.

This is a foundational, high-leverage role. You'll own the systems that turn Town's core product into a self-propelling growth engine — and you'll work hand-in-hand with virtually all teams across the business to do it.

Example projects include...

  • Virality and the invite flow. Word of mouth is our most powerful growth lever. You'll work on building maximal virality into the product by improving how Town users spread the word. You'll make inviting new users faster, smoother, more delightful, and more discoverable. You'll run experiments around credits and incentives to pull more virality out of the core product.

  • Conversion and monetization. Revenue is the best indicator of how valuable of a product we're building. You'll focus on the user path from free to paid and from individual to team. Build and watch the dashboards tracking things like invites per user, conversion to paid, credit economics — and run experiments to move them.

  • Personal-to-team expansion. Design the upgrade flows. Solve problems like ensuring every team lands with at least 3 active members, and make team formation feel effortless.

  • Enterprise readiness and upsell. Build the foundation that lets us land and expand enterprise accounts: admin controls, admin vs. member-only features, and enterprise SSO integration (a near-term must-have for us).

You might thrive in this role if you...

  • Are energized by PLG mechanics. You see growth as a positive-sum, product-quality problem and you love digging into the small details that ultimately make big revenue impact.

  • Love working cross-functionally. GTM & business teams are some of your key stakeholders, and you're energized by go-to-market fundamentals and understanding how what you're building impacts the revenue growth of the business.

  • Get real joy out of running metrics. You instrument, measure, and obsess over a funnel, and you're happiest when a dashboard moves because of something you shipped.

  • Are an experiment-driven builder. You ship, measure, and iterate

  • Have tuned your AI-native coding workflow so you ship dramatically faster.

  • Are comfortable defining technical direction in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

  • Are excited about working in-person in SF, five days a week.

Location
