Passes is seeking a dynamic, ownership-minded Finance Manager to lead financial operations following our current Head of Finance's departure. This person doesn't need the most senior title on paper, but they need to be comfortable owning the entire finance function, from day-to-day operations to strategic financial planning, and should be highly fluent with AI tools like Claude to operate at a more senior level than years of experience alone would suggest.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership
Own all financial operations: budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis
Manage payroll (we use Rippling) and day-to-day financial operations
Own headcount cost modeling and understand the fully-loaded cost of each role
Own PNL reporting and present regular financial updates to leadership
Monitor and manage cash flow and efficient use of company resources
Manage budget tracking via Ramp for employee spend, flagging out-of-policy transactions
Compliance
Ensure financial compliance across the company, including tax filings, GAAP-aligned reporting, and audit readiness
Implement internal controls and financial policies
Stay current on payments compliance requirements as our payments platform product scales
Payments & Technical Systems
Work hands-on in Passes' proprietary system and in Mercury for manual payouts, vendor invoicing, and general payments
Support financial operations for our our payments platform product, partnering closely with the technical team on how payment flows and manual interventions affect the books

Qualifications
1-4 years of experience in finance roles (flexibility for less experienced candidates with an exceptional academic or professional background)
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
Strong fluency with AI tools, particularly Claude, is a hard requirement
Comfortable owning a full department with limited senior backup
Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment
