Position Summary

The Director, Facilities & EHS is responsible for the safety, compliance, and physical infrastructure of ecoATM Gazelle's corporate offices and warehouses. This role owns the company's environmental health and safety program end-to-end — policy, training, incident response, and regulatory compliance — while also managing facilities operations, vendor relationships, and capital projects. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can build scalable programs from the ground up and operate in a fast-paced, PE-backed environment.

Key Responsibilities

Environmental Health & Safety

  • Design, implement, and maintain the company's EHS program across all facilities, warehouses, and field operations including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications which includes leading the yearly audits.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable state/local environmental and safety regulations
  • Lead incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning for safety events
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees and site leaders
  • Own EHS reporting, audits, and regulatory filings; serve as primary point of contact for regulatory inspections
  • Manage hazardous materials handling and disposal programs relevant to device refurbishment/recycling operations

Facilities Management

  • Oversee facilities operations across corporate offices, warehouses, and distribution/refurbishment sites including preventive maintenance programs and emergency preparedness planning
  • Manage a portfolio of vendor relationships (maintenance, janitorial, construction) and negotiate relevant contracts
  • Lead space planning, office buildouts, and facility capital projects, including budgeting and vendor selection

Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Build and lead a team of facilities and safety personnel across multiple sites
  • Partner with Operations, HR, and Legal on workplace safety policy, workers' comp coordination, and risk management
  • Report on EHS metrics, incident trends, and facilities budget/spend to executive leadership

Real Estate

  • Manage the company's real estate portfolio across corporate, warehouse, and distribution sites nationwide
  • Lead site selection and due diligence for new locations, including market analysis, cost modeling, and zoning/permitting review
  • Negotiate new leases, renewals, and terminations in partnership with Legal and Finance, including landlord relationship management
  • Track portfolio-wide lease terms, expirations, and options; maintain a rolling real estate strategy aligned to headcount and operational growth
  • Evaluate build-vs-lease and consolidation opportunities to optimize footprint and costs.
  • Manage relationships with brokers, landlords, and real estate legal counsel

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in facilities management, EHS, or a combined role, ideally in a multi-site, warehouse, or industrial environment
  • Deep working knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA requirements, and general environmental compliance standards
  • Certification such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or similar strongly preferred
  • Proven experience managing capital projects, vendor contracts, multi-site budgets, and a multi-location real estate portfolio (lease negotiation, site selection, landlord management)
  • Experience building or scaling a safety/facilities function in a growth-stage or PE-backed company a plus
  • Strong communication skills; ability to influence at the executive level and train frontline teams
  • Willingness to travel to multi-site locations as needed
