Co-Op Program (Computer Science)

Umeå, Sweden
Job description

About Clear Street:

Clear Street is modernizing the brokerage ecosystem. Founded in 2018, Clear Street is a diversified financial services firm replacing the legacy infrastructure used across capital markets.

We started from scratch by building a completely cloud-native clearing and custody system designed for today’s complex, global market. Our platform is fully integrated with central clearing houses and exchanges to support billions in trading volume per day. We’ve agonized about our data model abstractions, created horizontal scalability, and crafted thoughtful APIs. All so we can provide a best-in-class experience for our clients.

By combining highly-skilled product and engineering talent with seasoned finance professionals, we’re building the essentials to compete in today’s fast-paced markets.

The Team:

We started with a small group of experienced engineers and the team has significantly increased in size to a team of 50+ with plans to continue to grow.  The team was formed to execute on Clear Street’s growth strategy of expanding our products and services to reach more asset classes and geographies. We work closely with engineering and product teams based in New York.

Members of the team have the unique opportunity to be part of a growth journey, building a technology stack from scratch, and making a big impact on the financial market. In this role, an individual will work in conjunction with team members in Sweden and NY to build applications for our Securities Finance and Futures businesses, the Execution Management, Risk as well as Custody and Clearing systems.

Join us and be part of a collaborative, productive and supportive team that values office work over remote work.

The Role:
In cooperation with Umeå University, we are seeking third-year Computer Science students to join our Swedish engineering team through the Co-Op program. Please note that this position is strictly open to current third-year Computer Science students at Umeå University.

We Offer:

  • Two paid summer work periods as part of the Co-Op program.
  • Ongoing part-time engagement of approximately one day per week during your studies.
  • The opportunity to complete your final thesis project with us.
  • The opportunity to join a growing, collaborative team of talented professionals.
  • Guidance from experienced supervisors.
  • A strong foundation for your career through real-world experience and a professional network in the financial technology industry.

Our top priority is our people. We're continuously investing in a culture that promotes collaboration. We help each other through challenges and celebrate each other's successes. We believe that modern workplaces succeed by virtue of having high-performance workforces that are diverse, in ideas, in cultures, and in experiences. We put in the effort to make such a workplace a daily reality and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
