The Role:

We are looking for an experienced technician with strong installation and equipment knowledge within the hospitality space (ice machines, sodastream, keg lines, espresso, coffee machines). In addition to technical responsibilities, this role will also be cross-trained as an on-site team member. The technician will support pantry operations as needed, including light restocking, site walkthroughs, client interaction, and ensuring overall service continuity during peak periods or coverage gaps.

  • Use email and the ticketing platform to communicate with clients, partners, field teams, and office managers regarding maintenance, installation, and uninstallation needs
  • Log, prioritize, and resolve help-desk tickets related to equipment issues
  • Follow appropriate escalation channels
  • Complete ticket resolutions accurately so data can be used for process evaluation
  • Collaborate with teammates to streamline workflows and reduce client touchpoint
  • Contribute to training materials and reference documentation
  • Communicate respectfully and informatively at all times
  • Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial coffee machines (e.g., Jura, Encore, Azkoyen), water filtration systems (e.g., Bevi, FloWater), and kegerators.
  • Conduct diagnostics on electrical, plumbing, and mechanical components to identify and resolve equipment issues efficiently.
  • Complete scheduled and preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Coordinate and execute equipment installations at client sites, ensuring proper setup, calibration, and onsite testing.
  • Maintain detailed logs of service calls, repairs performed, parts used, and equipment condition.
  • Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and consumables required for timely repairs.
  • Respond to urgent service calls to support high-priority accounts and restore service quickly.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Solutions Desk, and on-site teams to communicate service updates and ensure seamless client support.
  • Provide guidance and basic training to on-site staff on proper equipment use and care.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and manufacturer standards during all repairs and installations.
  • Participate in equipment upgrades, replacements, and new technology deployments across regions.

Porter Service

  • Stock snacks while practicing FIFO
  • Make sure package labels are visible
  • Remove any expired products from the kitchens
  • Maintain inventory of products and submit orders
  • Keeping equipment functioning by following operating instructions
  • Troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, assisting with performing preventive maintenance.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience repairing or installing commercial coffee machines, beverage dispensers, water filtration systems, or similar equipment.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and basic plumbing troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with brands such as Jura, Encore, Azkoyen, Bunn, Bevi, FloWater, Lancer, and commercial kegerators is highly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical diagrams.
  • Comfortable using diagnostic tools (multimeters, pressure gauges, flow testers, etc.).
  • Proven ability to work independently in the field and manage multiple service calls per day.
  • Strong communication skills, able to interact professionally with clients, onsite staff, and internal teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a calm, solution-oriented approach in urgent situations.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform hands-on work including bending, kneeling, and using ladders.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally between sites as needed.
  • Familiarity with asset management systems (Asset Panda preferred) and ticketing platforms (Zendesk, Slack, Google Suite).
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and follow-through.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality service and maintaining client satisfaction.
  • Travel in the San Francisco and San Jose area. Have your own transportation to travel between office locations.
