Job description

1 in 4 people in the US have a treatable mental health condition, but most providers don't accept insurance, making therapy too expensive for most people. Headway’s mission is to fix this by building a new mental healthcare system everyone can access. We started by solving the biggest barrier to care: insurance. The admin work - credentialing, claims, payment reconciliation - is a nightmare. We've automated that.

But we're going further. Over 75,000 providers across all 50 states run their practice on our software, serving over 1 million patients. We are building the best tools for therapists to run their entire practice, reimagining the experience of finding a therapist, and investing in the platform foundations to enable this at scale. We aren't just a billing layer; we are becoming the platform where care actually happens.

We're a Series D company with $325M+ in funding (a16z, Accel, Spark Capital, etc.), looking for exceptional people to help us achieve this mission. We want your time here to be the most meaningful experience of your career. Join us, and help change mental healthcare for the better.

Join us, and make an impact

About The Role

Headway's Care Partnerships team is on a mission to become the behavioral health partner of choice for every health system in the US. We make it easy for care management, social work, and clinical teams to refer their patients into high-quality outpatient behavioral health care. And we're growing fast.

Cold outbound is now a proven, scalable channel for us to generate new health system partnerships. Our team of Business Development Associates (BDAs) books the meetings that drive our pipeline. As a BDA Team Lead, you'll lead a pod of 7–8 BDAs. You'll coach them to consistently hit quota, find what moves the funnel, and make the team better every month.

This is a full-time leadership role with no personal quota. Your success is your team's success. You'll shape how we hire, onboard, and develop BDAs as the team scales.

You will:

  • Lead and coach a pod of 7–8 BDAs to consistently hit their monthly meeting quota and qualification targets

  • Own your pod's funnel, from dials and connects to meetings booked, held rate, and conversion to qualified prospects

  • Run weekly 1:1s, call listening sessions, and live coaching during call blocks

  • Give clear, direct feedback to every rep, and regularly ask for feedback on your own coaching

  • Generate and test new ideas across messaging, sequencing, channels, and targeting, then roll out what works across the team

  • Partner with BD Leads and regional leaders to keep handoffs clean and meeting quality high

  • Help hire and onboard new BDAs as the team grows

You will love this role if:

  • You have 2+ years in a high-volume outbound role (BDR, SDR, inside sales) and 1+ year leading or formally coaching a team of reps

  • You know your team's numbers cold and can explain what's driving them, rep by rep and stage by stage

  • You're energized by developing people. Watching a rep go from behind pace to quota is the best part of your week.

  • You generate your own ideas to hit goals, test them, and measure whether they worked

  • You give direct feedback, ask for it in return, and build trust with partners across the business

  • You're resilient and persistent. When the team is behind pace, you spot it early and act.

  • You're motivated by the opportunity to help solve one of our generation's defining problems: access to mental healthcare

Bonus points if:

  • You have experience in healthcare, health tech, or selling into health systems

  • You've built or scaled an outbound team or playbook from an early stage

  • You've used dialer and sequencing tools (e.g., Nooks, Outreach, Salesloft)

  • You've worked in a fast-growing startup environment

Compensation and Benefits:

The expected salary for this position is $78,200 - $115,000, based on a variety of factors including qualifications, experience, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for an equity grant, depending on the position and level.

We are committed to offering a comprehensive and competitive total rewards package, including robust health and wellness benefits, retirement savings, and meaningful ownership opportunities through equity. Compensation decisions are made holistically, ensuring fairness and alignment with market benchmarks while recognizing individual contributions and potential.

  • Benefits offered include:

    • Equity compensation

    • Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage

    • HSA / FSA

    • 401K

    • Work-from-Home Stipend

    • Therapy Reimbursement

    • 16-week parental leave for eligible employees

    • Carrot Fertility annual reimbursement and membership

    • 13 paid holidays each year as well as a Holiday Break during the week between December 25th and December 31st

    • Flexible PTO

    • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

    • Training and professional development

[Other compensation includes: discretionary bonuses and/or commission.]
