Working hours: Monday – FridayWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 6 Biochemistry Biomedical Scientist to join our client's team in Manchester. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing essential biochemistry services. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the analysis and interpretation of biochemical tests, contributing to the overall quality of patient care.
What will your responsibilities be:
The Band 6 Biochemistry Biomedical Scientist will be responsible for performing a wide range of biochemical tests using Beckman analysers, analysing and interpreting results, and providing detailed reports to the medical team. This role involves working closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnosis and effective treatment plans. Additional responsibilities include maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, staying updated with the latest advancements in biochemistry techniques, training and mentoring junior staff and students, participating in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing to research and development projects, managing patient samples and ensuring timely service delivery, and providing support and education regarding biochemistry procedures.
Qualifications and Experiences:
- Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent
- HCPC registration
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in biochemistry
- Proficiency in using Beckman analysers
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to continuous professional development
