Job description

Who we are

Semafor is a global news platform for an increasingly complex world in which consumers are overwhelmed by too many news sources and unsure what to trust. We are building Semafor to enable world-class journalists to deliver reporting and insights with rigor in journalistic forms that ensure a new level of transparency. Our editors and reporters distill the most important stories from all over in formats that uncover the forces shaping the stories, explain the interests behind polarizing narratives, and replenish the stock of shared facts. As a global platform, Semafor recognizes that smart people can disagree and that informed readers need to understand alternative points of view from competing centers of power and culture in a multi-polar world. Want to join us? Read on.

About this Role

  • Maintain accurate attendee records, including registration status, contact information, and relevant participation details.
  • Support attendee follow-up and outreach to help meet audience targets.

Event Communications & Content

  • Draft and distribute attendee communications, including confirmations, reminders, and logistical updates.
  • Prepare internal audience briefings, attendee summaries, and operational documents.
  • Support website content management, including speaker biographies, headshots, titles, and company information.
  • Coordinate updates to event and registration pages as needed.

Event Operations & Administrative Support

  • Maintain accurate audience data and assist with database management and data entry.
  • Support the preparation of attendee lists, check-in materials, and event-day documentation.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure attendee information is accurate and up to date.
  • Provide general administrative and operational support across multiple events.

Ideal Experience & Skills

  • Previous experience in event coordination, audience development, marketing operations, or administrative support.
  • Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong written communication skills and professional email etiquette.
  • Comfort working with spreadsheets, databases, and event management systems.
  • Ability to manage repetitive, detail-intensive tasks with speed and accuracy.
  • A proactive, adaptable approach and willingness to support wherever needed.
