Associate Scientist I, Technology Access Program

Job description

At Alamar, we are passionate about enabling our customers to make scientific discoveries that translate into clinical outcomes and benefit patients. Our team is growing quickly as we develop innovative approaches to measure critical protein biomarkers from liquid samples that can enable the earliest possible detection of disease. We believe the next frontier in biology is enabled by measuring proteins at higher sensitivity in highly multiplexed assays at the push of a button, which is something only Alamar can do. As we build our team, we seek collaborative, driven, intellectually curious people committed to solving complex challenges. Our culture rewards accountability and cross functional teamwork because we believe this enables the kind of breakthrough thinking that will accelerate our mission.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate Scientist I to join the Technology Access Program (TAP) team and support the execution of client-sponsored research projects. This is a laboratory-based role with a primary focus on assay set-up and execution, sample preparation, next-generation sequencing (NGS) workflows, operation of laboratory instrumentation, and data quality review.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on laboratory skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to consistently execute established experimental workflows in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. Experience with molecular biology, multiplex assays, and NGS workflows is highly desirable. The Associate Scientist will work closely with other TAP team members to ensure high-quality data generation, support data review and enable timely completion of client projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute multiplex assay workflows, including sample preparation, assay set-up, and operation of laboratory instrumentation according to established SOPs
  • Support routine NGS workflows, including library preparation, sequencing run preparation and instrument set-up
  • Support data analysis and quality checks, including review of sequencing QC metrics and experimental outcomes
  • Maintain accurate experimental records and laboratory documentation to ensure sample traceability
  • Support sample receiving, organization, inventory, and storage as needed
  • Collaborate with other team members to coordinate laboratory activities and meet project timelines

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline
  • 1+  years of relevant hands-on laboratory experience in a biotechnology, research, clinical or similar laboratory environment is required
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to accurately execute multi-step laboratory procedures, interpret data, and perform routine troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with sequencing and assay QC metrics is preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment

The base salary range for this full-time position is $85,000 - $97,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
