Job description

Iovance Biotherapeutics aims to be the global leader in innovating, developing and delivering tumor infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) therapy for people with cancer. We are pioneering a transformational approach to treating cancer by harnessing the ability of the human immune system to recognize and attack diverse cancer cells in each patient. The Iovance TIL platform has demonstrated promising clinical data across multiple solid tumors. We are committed to continuous innovation in cell therapy, including gene-edited cell therapy, which may be a promising option for patients with cancer.

Overview

The Associate Director, Digital Experience & AI Production owns how Iovance’s external digital presence gets produced, published, found, and kept accurate across web, visual assets, search, and measurement. Working at the intersection of technology, design, content, and business, this person uses AI to do work that would traditionally take a whole team, while remaining the human quality gate on everything that goes live.

The role spans Iovance’s corporate, branded, unbranded, clinical trial, and future international websites. It is deliberately hands-on: rather than handing requirements to an agency and waiting, this person takes work from intake through to production. A central part of the mandate is bringing agency-dependent work in-house — reducing vendor spend and taking direct accountability for the cost, speed, and quality of digital production. Communications and Commercial own what Iovance says; this role owns whether it gets published, whether people can find it, and how efficiently it is produced.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Own and Run the Digital Platforms

  • Review, edit, test, and approve all AI-generated content and assets before it reaches a regulated public site.
  • Use AI-assisted tools such as Claude or Sanity to assemble and update pages, migrate content, configure forms, and publish updates from a shared component library and site templates.
  • Build a reusable multi-site “site factory” to launch clinical trial, unbranded, and future ex-US properties in days, and manage the headless CMS content models, permissions, and publishing workflows that let business users self-serve appropriate updates.

Make Publishing Fast and Predictable

  • Drive same-day publishing once content clears MLR review, managing development, staging, and production workflows through AWS Amplify.
  • Provide staging and preview environments that let cross-functional and MLR reviewers evaluate the real experience, not just a document of the copy.
  • Instrument sites with GA4, Search Console, and uptime and performance monitoring, and report on publishing speed, site freshness, and SLA performance.

Make Iovance Easy to Find — and Accurately Represented

  • Own technical SEO across the sites: crawlability, indexing, Core Web Vitals, and structured data (Organization, Drug, ClinicalTrial, FAQ, and Video schema).
  • Identify and correct inaccurate information in Wikidata, Google Knowledge Panel, and financial-data aggregators (S&P Capital IQ, FactSet, Refinitiv, Morningstar), reviewed quarterly.
  • Monitor how search engines and AI assistants describe Iovance, its products, and its pipeline, correcting outdated or inaccurate information through structured data and authoritative site content.

Build an AI-Enabled Production Capability

  • Build Figma Weave workflows that produce consistent, on-brand visual assets across multiple digital properties.
  • Use Adobe Firefly to create IP-indemnified imagery for appropriate external-facing use cases.
  • Maintain the Iovance web brand asset kit, and bring routine production such as banner variations, reference guides, and display assets in-house as capacity grows.

Work Effectively in a Regulated Environment

  • Support MLR review through staging URLs, ensuring Regulatory can evaluate ISI placement, fair balance, and content prominence in the actual experience.
  • Maintain WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility, privacy and consent standards (CCPA, GDPR), and security requirements (WAF, security headers, dependency scanning) within IT’s DNS and security guardrails.

Bring the Work In-House

  • Transition external web properties off agency dependency in a deliberate, sequenced way — content extraction and rebuild through MLR review, launch, DNS cutover, and agency contract termination per contract terms.
  • Continue using external partners where there is a conscious reason — strategic creative work or highly specialized platforms.

Must adhere to Iovance Biotherapeutics’ core values, policies, procedures, and business ethics.

Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Required Education, Skills, and Knowledge

  • 10+ years’ experience across web production, digital operations, or closely related work, with direct responsibility for websites that have gone into production.
  • Bachelors degree in relevant field
  • Hands-on experience using AI-assisted production tools such as Claude, with examples of things you have actually built and shipped this way.
  • Good design judgment to create professional, brand-consistent pages and assets using Figma and AI-enabled image tools without always relying on a dedicated designer.
  • A working understanding of technical SEO, structured data, Search Console, and Core Web Vitals.
  • Strong stakeholder management across Communications, Commercial, Regulatory, Legal, and IT, and clear communication that keeps people informed without creating unnecessary process.
  • A bias toward action — comfortable taking ownership of a problem from intake through production and launch.

Preferred Education, Skills, and Knowledge

  • Prior pharma, biotech, or other regulated-industry experience
  • MLR or promotional review familiarity (fair balance, ISI/PI);AWS Amplify; WCAG accessibility; CCPA and GDPR; Wikidata, Knowledge Panel, or financial-data governance; Figma Weave and Adobe Firefly;

Physical Demands and Activities Required

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods
  • Ability to move about within an office or remote workspace and exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally
  • Visual acuity sufficient for preparing and analyzing data, viewing computer screens, and extensive reading
  • Repetitive motion involving wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Ability to communicate effectively to exchange information
  • Ability to engage in analytical, conceptual, and problem‑solving activities in a dynamic business environment

Mental: Clear and conceptual thinking ability; excellent judgment, troubleshooting, problem-solving, analysis, and discretion; ability to handle work-related stress; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously with a sense of urgency; and ability to meet deadlines
