Job description
Kinter is building AI agents that automate expense-side accounting close, prepaid, accruals, and reconciliation, for mid-market finance teams on NetSuite. We're early (about 30 people), backed by a16z, Bain Capital Ventures, and YC, and getting our go-to-market motion off the ground. We're hiring our very first founding Account Executive to partner directly with our CEO and CRO, take over founder-led selling and build our commercial engine from the ground up. This is a build-it-yourself role for someone who has done it before, not someone using it as an entry point into early-stage sales. You should be energized by being first, and ready to shape how Kinter sells. ### How you'll make an impact here * Sell Kinter. Find your way to the right people at mid-market and enterprise finance teams, educate them on AI-driven expense close, and help them succeed with the platform. * Turn founder-led selling into a repeatable commercial engine, process, tooling and eventually the team we bring on. * Identify high-potential prospects and run effective outbound prospecting to build and grow your own pipeline. * Own the full lifecycle, from first outbound to contract signature, independently closing deals across a wide range of ACV without much support needed. * Shape Kinter's early GTM motion from a blank page.  There’s no playbook to inherit here, only ambiguity to work through and you’ll be the one to help turn it into a scalable process down the road. * Influence product strategy by bringing customer feedback back to the team from the front line. * Become an expert in expense-side accounting close (prepaid, accruals, reconciliation) and speak fluently to finance buyers on NetSuite. ### What you'll bring to the team * **Proven founding or early sales-hire experience:** You've been the first (or one of the first) sales hires at an early-stage company before, and can speak concretely to what that actually required.  * **Deal size and ownership:** Comfortable running full deal cycles independently and closing mid-market deals without needing a manager in the room * **Track record:** 7+ years of full-cycle, quota-carrying sales experience at  fast-growing B2B SaaS startups, with a demonstrated history of hitting or exceeding quota, ideally mid-market, ideally selling into finance or accounting buyers. * **Technical acumen:** Able to get fluent in a customer's finance stack fast enough to speak credibly to the ROI of automating close. * **Drive:** Competitive, biased toward action, energized by operating in the gray zones, undefined process and figuring things out as you go * **Comfort with chaos:** You’d rather diagnose what’s broken and fix it than wait for a process to be handed to you. Early-stage ambiguity isn’t something you push through, it’s part of what makes the role appealing.  * **Team player:** Sales is a team sport here too. Collaborative, low-ego, and willing to help build the function around you. ### **How we work** Everyone at Kinter operates by five values. Here's what they look like in this role specifically: * **Be Fearless:** You're the first dedicated seller here. That means cold outbound, pitching a product category buyers haven't seen before, and building your own playbook instead of waiting for one. * **Just Do It:** Test a cadence, a message, an angle. If it doesn't land, adjust and move on. A deal cycle that ships and iterates beats one that waits for a perfect pitch. * **Sweat the Details:** You're selling into finance teams who live and die by precision. Get the details of a customer's stack, their pain, and their contract right, every time. * **Obsess Over Customers:** Spend real time understanding a prospect's close process before you pitch. The best reps here sell the outcome, not the feature list. * **Tell It Like It Is:** Give an honest read on a deal's real stage, not an optimistic one. If a forecast is soft, say so early, not in the pipeline review.
