We are seeking a sales-driven, commercially minded Travel Trade Specialist to manage and scale strategic partnerships across the NORAM & AMEI Operating at the intersection of strategic partnerships, digital media, and destination marketing, this high-impact individual contributor role is designed for a seasoned professional who thrives on building relationships with Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs) and Tourism Boards while consistently delivering revenue goals.
The ideal candidate brings a consultative, insight-led approach, translating complex advertising solutions into tangible business outcomes. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, you will engage senior stakeholders, collaborate with cross functional teams, and drive long-term commercial growth. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required.
Responsibilities
Revenue Growth & Strategic Partnerships:
  • Drive Media Revenue: Deploy a consultative sales methodology to expand media revenue within the DMO and Tourism Board segments, aligning their marketing priorities with our travel trade solutions.
  • Account Management: Serve as a trusted advisor to key accounts by conducting regular commercial reviews, maximizing contract value, and identifying upsell/cross-sell opportunities.
  • Co-Marketing Initiatives: Identify and execute promotional, barter, and co-marketing campaigns that maximize partner ROI and deepen platform integration.
  • Deal Management & Sales Execution
  • End-to-End Sales Cycle: Lead outreach, discovery, proposal design, and contract negotiations alongside internal business partners to secure executive-level commitments.
  • Pipeline Management: Build and maintain a high-velocity opportunity pipeline, providing accurate revenue forecasts and transparent deal-status updates to leadership.
  • Cross-Functional Campaign Collaboration
  • Campaign Launch & Oversight: Act as the main bridge between clients and internal execution teams (Supply, Media Planning, Product, Operations, and Billing) to ensure campaigns launch on time and on spec.
  • Performance Analytics: Monitor live campaigns to proactively resolve issues, conduct post-campaign ROI debriefs, and utilize data to build future investment cases.
  • Industry Positioning: Support corporate communications and joint learning sessions with suppliers and DMOs to efficiently position Despegar as a premier partner across the global travel industry.
  • Requirements
  • Experience: 3+ years of progressive experience in media sales, advertising business development, or digital media sales; background in the travel and tourism ecosystem is highly preferred.
  • Track Record: Proven history of meeting or exceeding quarterly revenue targets and cultivating high-value, multi-year strategic partnerships.
  • Digital Media Acumen: Strong understanding of digital advertising fundamentals, including programmatic media, performance metrics, and destination marketing.
  • Languages & Communication: Full professional bilingualism in English and Spanish. Exceptional executive presence with the ability to influence C-suite and senior-level stakeholders.
  • Consultative Skillset: Analytical mindset comfortable with interpreting data, constructing business cases, and negotiating complex, multi-element deals.
  • Agility & Mobility: Resilient in fast-moving, ambiguous environments. Ability to travel when required 50% (valid passport required).
