Job description

About the role

As a Technical Program Coordinator, you will serve as the primary scientific liaison between the Field Operations Department and the engineering, licensing, nuclear operations, and testing departments to communicate design intentions to the field team and prepare relevant educational coordination. A technical coordinator keeps personnel informed and educated while maintaining the ability to participate in hands-on field work during the commissioning, installation, maintenance, and refueling of Aalo projects.

This role is a great fit for a highly motivated and curious person who thrives at the center of a fast-moving team. You will keep the department informed, trained, and ready to safely execute Aalo's objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison between Field Operations and engineering organizations, keeping field teams informed of design changes, project priorities, and technical decisions.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and administer required technical training programs, including Radiation Worker Training (including proctoring written examinations), Heavy Equipment Operator Training, Criticality Safety Training, and Fissile Material Handler Training.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining Field Operations procedures, work instructions, training programs, and readiness initiatives.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure field activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering, science, or operations-related field, OR equivalent hands-on operations, coordination, or program-support experience.
  • Strong organizational, scheduling, and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple technical teams.
  • Ability to track and manage certifications, qualifications, records, and training compliance.
  • Strong ownership mindset; comfortable working with ambiguity and shifting priorities in a fast-iterating environment.
  • Air-travel-compliant form of ID and a valid Driver's License.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience teaching core concepts at a university level.
  • Experience in nuclear, aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with training administration and proctoring.
  • Familiarity with physics, sodium testing, thermal hydraulics, chemistry, or materials science.

Physical Requirements

  • Comfortable working in office, factory-floor, and field environments alongside engineers, technicians, and operators.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods while wearing PPE when on the floor or in the field.
  • Willingness to support field activities in industrial and remote environments when trained and authorized.

  • A Sense of Urgency - You move quickly, make thoughtful decisions, and maintain momentum while balancing quality and execution.

Requirements:

  • Based in the United States
  • Willing to work on-site in Austin, TX
  • Able to travel (at Aalo's expense) to out-of-state locations in the continental U.S. as project needs require.
