Job Description

The Opportunity:

At Miris, we're removing the barrier to entry for spatial content, and rock-solid reliability is fundamental to that mission. We're looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to take ownership of front-line operational support for our platforms that deliver 3D/4D Gaussian splat content to AR/VR devices worldwide. You'll join our SRE team to establish world-class operational practices, initially focusing on making our on-call experience sustainable and effective, then progressively reducing toil and building automation that lets the team operate at higher levels of the stack.

This is a high-impact role that requires deep expertise in on-call response, instrumentation, and the ability to collect and act on the data needed to make effective decisions in production environments. Our ideal candidate has a proven track record of improving quality of life for on-call teams through better tooling, runbooks, and alert tuning, and thrives on identifying patterns in operational work that can be automated away. As operational maturity improves, you'll have opportunities to focus more on proactive reliability engineering, architecture reviews, and building self-service capabilities.

What You'll Do:

  • Participate in on-call rotations, responding to incidents and maintaining 24/7 availability of Miris streaming services and pipelines
  • Instrument systems with comprehensive telemetry, metrics, and logging to enable effective troubleshooting and operational decision-making
  • Design, tune, and maintain alerting systems with appropriate thresholds that minimize false positives while catching real issues early
  • Lead incident response efforts, conduct thorough post-mortems, and drive systemic improvements to prevent recurrence
  • Identify and eliminate toil through automation, runbook development, and self-service tooling that reduces operational burden over time
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve service observability, define SLIs/SLOs, track error budgets, and establish production readiness standards

What You'll Bring:

  • 3-5+ years of production operations experience with hands-on on-call rotation responsibilities and a track record of incident response
  • Demonstrated expertise in instrumenting systems for operational visibility: adding telemetry, structuring logs, tagging cloud resources, and implementing distributed tracing
  • Strong production debugging skills across complex distributed systems, with experience tuning alerting thresholds and reducing alert fatigue
  • Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack or similar) and cloud platforms (AWS, CoreWeave), including infrastructure-as-code (kubernetes, helm, terraform) practices
  • Proven track record of improving on-call quality of life through process improvements, automation, runbook development, and operational tooling
Target Base Salary Range
$89,155$287,488 USD
