Job title
Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant - Women’s Health & Primary Care (Per Diem / Flexible Shifts)
Job location
Los Angeles, California, United States
Job description

About Tia

Tia is building a new model for women’s healthcare, one that treats women as whole people, not separate conditions or life stages. By integrating primary care, mental health, gynecology, dermatology, and wellness across both in-person and virtual settings, Tia is improving outcomes, lowering costs, and creating a better experience for patients and providers alike.

About the Role

We are hiring experienced Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to provide flexible, per diem coverage across Tia’s Eastside Los Angeles clinics (Pasadena, Silver Lake, and Studio City). This role is designed for highly skilled clinicians who want supplemental clinical work and premium hourly pay without committing to a fixed part-time or full-time schedule.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Premium Compensation: A highly competitive flat rate of $96 per hour.

  • True Flexibility: No fixed weekly schedule. You accept only the shifts that work for your life.

  • Zero-Burnout Charting: Access to AI-supported documentation tools specifically designed to reduce your charting burden, plus complimentary UpToDate access.

  • Paid Onboarding: Unlike most PRN roles, we provide a 40-hour fully paid training period to ensure you are comfortable with our clinical protocols, EHR, and workflows before you see a single patient.

How Scheduling Works

  • Availability: We ask providers to share at least one day of general availability each week (weekdays or weekends). Sharing availability does not obligate you to accept every shift offered.

  • Shift Requests: When coverage is needed (for planned gaps or high-volume days), Tia will contact you with the location, shift time, and expected arrival.

  • Your Choice: You accept or decline each individual shift request.

  • The Commitment: Accepted shifts are typically 8 hours (between 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM). If you accept a same-day shift, you must be able to arrive at the assigned clinic within two hours.

What You’ll Do

  • Women’s Health & Procedures (Core Focus): Assess and manage same-day women’s health concerns, including vaginal, urinary, pelvic, and reproductive symptoms. Perform IUD insertions and basic dermatologic procedures within your clinical scope.

  • Primary Care: Evaluate and manage common acute and chronic primary care needs (hypertension, diabetes, anxiety, depression), and conduct annual preventive exams and health screenings.

  • Seamless Integration: Quickly integrate into clinic workflows, collaborating with on-site physicians, APPs, and operations staff to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. Provide virtual care or inbox coverage during non-patient time on an accepted shift.

What You’ll Bring

  • Credentials: Active, unrestricted California NP or PA license; Current national board certification (e.g., ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA); Active DEA registration.

  • Experience: 3+ years of independent outpatient primary care experience, with a strong background in routine women’s health services and the ability to confidently perform IUD insertions.

  • Clinical Agility: Strong clinical judgment with the ability to triage, prioritize, and manage a broad range of visits with minimal ramp time. Comfort adapting quickly to different clinic teams and tech-enabled workflows.

Preferred but not required: Experience performing Nexplanon insertions or colposcopies; providing trauma-informed, LGBTQ+ inclusive, and gender-affirming care; experience in weight management or menopause care.
