Job description

Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company with the mission to be the world's most trusted driver. Since its start as the Google Self-Driving Car Project in 2009, Waymo has focused on building the Waymo Driver—The World's Most Experienced Driver™—to improve access to mobility while saving thousands of lives now lost to traffic crashes. The Waymo Driver powers Waymo’s fully autonomous ride-hail service and can also be applied to a range of vehicle platforms and product use cases. The Waymo Driver has provided over ten million rider-only trips, enabled by its experience autonomously driving over 100 million miles on public roads and tens of billions in simulation across 15+ U.S. states.

You will:

  • Translate complex, rapidly evolving mapping policy requirements into crisp, actionable, and detailed technical mapping specifications.
  • Partner cross-functionally to evaluate the holistic impact of map changes, ensuring real-time disruptions are safely and reliably managed while minimizing routing impact.
  • Establish a rigorous decision-making framework and clear RACI matrix to drive alignment on policies, ownership, and governance across key stakeholder teams.
  • Empower the scaling of global vendor operations by establishing clear performance metrics to measure quality and overall policy adherence.
  • Deliver compelling executive communications, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations to Product and Engineering leadership, guiding the future tooling roadmap for real-time disruption management.

You have:

  • 8+ years of program management experience, with a strong focus on policy, regulatory, or complex operational initiatives within the technology sector.
  • Demonstrated history of cross-functional stakeholder management, uniting diverse teams around a shared vision and driving executive consensus.
  • Deep technical acumen across complex, multi-model systems, with the ability to bridge technical requirements and operational reality seamlessly.
  • Exceptional analytical mindset and attention to detail, capable of evaluating nuances in policy to prevent fleet-wide operational disruptions.
  • Relentless bias to action with a proven track record of taking end-to-end accountability during critical investigations, moving rapidly from initial diagnosis to execution under pressure.

We prefer:

  • Direct experience working with road rules, regulatory frameworks, or geospatial mapping policies.
  • Demonstrated fluency with AI tools for data analytics and workflow optimization
  • Masters degree in a business or technical field

Travel requirements:

  • Ability to travel to the India as needed (once every 2 or 3 years)
