Job Title: Paediatric Mainstream Speech and Language Therapist – East London
Banding: Band 6/7
Location: East London
Start Date: ASAP
Salary/Rate: £24.00–£38.00 per hour
Working Hours: Part-time (2.5 days per week)


Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT) to join two mainstream primary schools in East London. This role offers the opportunity to work with children across Key Stages 1 and 2, supporting speech, language, and communication development in a mainstream setting.

The role is split between two schools located very close to each other, with 2 days in one school and 0.5 day in the other. Both schools provide a supportive environment and are easily accessible via public transport.

This position is ideal for a confident and experienced therapist who enjoys working in a varied mainstream school setting and is passionate about making a positive difference in children’s communication development.


Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Assess, diagnose, and deliver individualised therapy for children with Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN).
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, school staff, and parents to implement effective interventions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in line with professional standards.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and reviews as required.
  • Adapt therapy approaches to meet the needs of children in a mainstream school setting.

Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
  • HCPC registration and eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
  • Proven experience working with children in a mainstream educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A flexible and proactive approach to managing a varied caseload.
