Biomedical Scientist in Blood Transfusion

Working Pattern: Core hours only

Hourly Rate: £22-24 PAYE via the trust Direct Engagement Model

We are currently seeking a Band 6 Biomedical Scientist specialising in Blood Transfusion to join our client’s team in the West Midlands. This is a full-time, ongoing position working core hours only, offering a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to contribute to a busy and well-established laboratory service.

Key Responsibilities

You will carry out blood grouping, antibody screening, compatibility testing, and issue blood components for transfusion. You will ensure safe transfusion practices and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications and Experience

- HCPC registration

- Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent

- Experience in Blood Transfusion within a clinical laboratory

- Familiarity with LIMS and transfusion analysers - Ortho, BloodTrack and Winpath

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

- NHS experience (preferred)
