COMPANY OVERVIEW

KKR is a leading global investment firm that offers alternative asset management as well as capital markets and insurance solutions. KKR aims to generate attractive investment returns by following a patient and disciplined investment approach, employing world-class people, and supporting growth in its portfolio companies and communities. KKR sponsors investment funds that invest in private equity, credit and real assets and has strategic partners that manage hedge funds. KKR’s insurance subsidiaries offer retirement, life and reinsurance products under the management of Global Atlantic Financial Group. References to KKR’s investments may include the activities of its sponsored funds and insurance subsidiaries.

KKR is seeking a Leveraged Credit Closer to join its Global Investment Operations team. In this role, you will support the KKR Credit Trading desk, KKR Capital Markets (KCM), KKR's CLO business, and Private Credit Operations.

You will support the leveraged loan trade lifecycle and make sure trades settle accurately and efficiently. You will partner closely with Trading, Capital Markets, Treasury, the CLO Desk, Legal, Asset Maintenance, Finance, Compliance, and other teams across the firm. Together you will resolve settlement issues and keep internal systems and records accurate.

This is an opportunity to join a global, evolving Investment Operations function focused on delivering best-in-class operational support to KKR's investment businesses.

Responsibilities

Closing and settlement

  • Manage the end-to-end closing and settlement of leveraged loan trades in accordance with LSTA conventions and settlement timelines.
  • Manage a high-volume closing pipeline, prioritizing trades by settlement date, compensation deadline, and counterparty requirements.
  • Navigate loan closing workflows in ClearPar, including trade matching, document generation, and funding memo review.
  • Perform manual settlements and prepare documents for complex loans, including DDTLs and revolvers.
  • Review credit agreements and apply the relevant assignment provisions, minimum denominations, and eligible assignee requirements.

Funding, liquidity, and calculations

  • Coordinate funding requirements and cash movements with Treasury, including wire instructions and funding confirmations.
  • Manage CLO liquidity.
  • Review delayed compensation and cost-of-carry calculations, and escalate discrepancies as appropriate.
  • Ensure trades and related activity are accurately reflected across internal systems.

Leadership and partnership

  • Help lead and manage the day-to-day workflows of the loan settlement team.
  • Quarterback potential redemptions and closing deadlines, navigating tight timelines.
  • Partner with agent banks, counterparties, Trading, Legal, and Treasury to resolve documentation and settlement issues.

Process improvement

  • Work with the broader Global Investment Operations team and other functions to identify and implement process and control improvements.
  • Evaluate opportunities to use AI, automation, and technology to improve loan closing workflows and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • 6–8 years of relevant experience in leveraged credit or syndicated loan closing.
  • Strong working knowledge of LSTA trade documentation and the settlement process, including par and distressed conventions.
  • Strong understanding of the leveraged loan trade lifecycle and the full loan lifecycle, from issuance through maturity or restructuring.
  • Understanding of CLOs.
  • Expertise in ClearPar.
  • Strong knowledge of credit agreements, provisions, and loan documentation.
  • Ability to calculate delayed compensation, LSTA cost-of-carry, and all varieties of PIK.
  • Full front-to-back knowledge of loan funding mechanics and associated cash movements.
  • Experience with Geneva and BMS Allvue preferred.
  • Interest in, and working knowledge of, AI and automation tools strongly preferred.

Critical Competencies for Success

  • Intellectual curiosity, commercial judgment, and the ability to learn quickly.
  • A self-starter with a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with strong organizational and execution skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and a high-volume workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
  • Effective relationship-building and communication skills across investment and support functions.
  • A strong client-service orientation, with a sense of urgency and accountability.
  • Sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • A collaborative, team-oriented approach and a willingness to contribute beyond your immediate responsibilities.
