Information Systems Data Engineer

Job description
Wanna join the adventure?

Loft Orbital builds and operates satellites, and behind every mission is a web of business systems: ERP, PLM, MES, issue tracking, finance, and a growing toolkit of in-house software. Each holds part of the story; none of them tells the whole thing. We’re looking for an Information Systems Data Engineer to connect them. You’ll design Loft’s centralized database, build the pipelines that feed it, and deliver the reporting that shows how we’re really performing. If you like writing code that turns messy, scattered data into something people actually rely on, we’d love to talk.
About this role:
  • Design, build, and maintain a centralized SQL Server database and the data model that connects Loft’s business systems
  • Develop and operate Python/SQL ETL pipelines from NetSuite, Arena, ION, Jira, and other sources, managed in GitLab with CI/CD
  • Build Power BI dashboards and reports that monitor operational performance and KPIs
  • Develop and support NetSuite customizations, including SuiteScripts, workflows, and saved searches
  • Partner with Operations, Finance, Engineering, and IT to gather requirements and deliver integrations and tools
  • Document systems and data flows, and promote data quality, governance, and change control
Must Haves:
  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering, business systems, or a related technical role
  • Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and data processing
  • Hands-on experience with GitLab and CI/CD processes
  • Experience building and maintaining ETL pipelines
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with relational database design and management
  • Clear communicator who can translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software or Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent professional experience
Nice to Haves:
  • NetSuite SuiteScript and workflow development
  • NetSuite saved searches, SuiteQL, or SuiteAnalytics
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Power BI (data modeling, DAX)
  • Experience with PLM, MES, or Jira data
  • Experience applying AI/LLM tools to data or systems work
Some of Our Awesome Benefits:
  • 100% company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance option for employees and dependents
  • Flexible Spending (FSA) and Health Savings (HSA) Accounts offered with an employer contribution to the HSA
  • 100% employer paid Life, AD&D, Short-Term, and Long-Term Disability insurance
  • Flexible Time Off policy for vacation and sick leave, and 12 paid holidays
  • 401(k) plan and equity options
  • Daily catered lunches and snacks
  • International exposure to our team in France
  • Fully paid parental leave; 14 weeks for primary caregiver and 10 weeks for secondary caregiver
  • Carrot Fertility provides comprehensive, inclusive fertility healthcare and family-forming benefits with financial support
  • Off-sites and many social events and celebrations
  • Relocation assistance when applicable
