Opportunity

At Pulse Doctors, we are delighted to be supporting a hospital in Norfolk to recruit a Consultant in Paediatric Otolaryngology into a substantive, full-time post (10 Programmed Activities / sessions per week).

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic ENT department providing high-quality specialist care for paediatric otolaryngology patients across the region. The successful applicant will work within a collaborative multidisciplinary team and contribute to the delivery, development, and expansion of paediatric ENT services.

The role offers a well-balanced job plan including dedicated Supporting Professional Activities (SPA), opportunities for service development, teaching, and clinical leadership, alongside participation in the ENT on-call rota where applicable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide consultant-level specialist care in paediatric otolaryngology.
  • Deliver outpatient clinics, theatre sessions, and inpatient care for paediatric ENT patients.
  • Perform a range of paediatric ENT procedures in line with specialist expertise.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and contribute to shared decision-making.
  • Support the development and delivery of paediatric ENT pathways and services.
  • Participate in the ENT on-call rota (if required by the Trust job plan).
  • Supervise, train, and support junior doctors and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Engage in clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to teaching, training, and educational programmes within the department.
  • Undertake Supporting Professional Activities (SPA) including CPD, appraisal, revalidation, and service development.

Essential Criteria to Apply

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with licence to practise.
  • Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register in Otolaryngology (ENT) – specialist registration required.
  • Evidence of subspecialty experience or fellowship training in Paediatric Otolaryngology.
  • Competence in core ENT procedures with a paediatric focus.
  • Experience working at Consultant level within ENT services.
  • Strong commitment to high-quality, patient-centred clinical care.
  • Experience of multidisciplinary working and MDT participation.
  • Evidence of involvement in clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and team-working skills.
  • Commitment to teaching, training, and continuous professional development.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
