Why This Role Exists

We are looking for a high-leverage partner for the CTO who can operate at the

intersection of strategy and execution. The Chief of Staff will run the operating

system of engineering, drive clarity and speed across the SDLC, manage

cross-functional programs, and ensure accountability across initiatives — freeing

the CTO to focus on architecture, talent, and long-term bets.

What You’ll Do

• Run the engineering operating cadence: Drive QBRs/OKRs, weekly business

reviews, roadmap governance, sprint/quarterly planning, and release

readiness.

• Cross-functional program management: Partner with Product, Security, SRE,

Data, and GTM teams (Sales, CS, Marketing) to deliver outcomes on time and

at quality.

• Define and publish engineering metrics: Own the instrumentation of the

system (DORA, quality, reliability, cost), create narratives, and ensure actions.

• Special projects: Program manage high-priority initiatives for the CTO (e.g.,

AI/LLM initiatives, platform modernization, performance & reliability

programs, cost optimization, integrations).

• Improve organizational health: Build and scale hiring loops, onboarding

playbooks, skills matrices, operating docs, postmortems, and decision logs.

• Communications hub: Draft and deliver clear communications for executives

and the company; own incident comms, exec updates, and cross-functional

alignment.

• Have strong technical fluency (comfortable in architecture discussions,

reviewing Eng Specs/PRDs, understanding code, and reasoning about

trade-offs).

• Are an elite program operator, structured, proactive, detail-oriented, and

capable of bringing clarity to ambiguity.

• Communicate exceptionally well, with the ability to write sharp exec

memos, specs, dashboards, and concise decision logs.

• Can move seamlessly between boardroom and backlog, earning trust with

engineers and GTM leaders alike.

What we’re looking for

• 4+ years across TPM, Engineering Management, Staff PM, Consulting, or

Founder-type roles; startup/scale-up experience strongly preferred.

• Proven track record of delivering multi-team programs (e.g., security,

reliability, AI, or platform initiatives) with measurable outcomes.

• Familiarity with security & compliance standards (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR),

cloud/SRE concepts, and data/AI fundamentals.

• Hands-on experience with tools such as Jira/Linear, Notion/Confluence,

GitHub, Airflow, Looker/Metabase, SQL, and incident tooling.
