Working Hours: Monday to Friday (flexible working available)

 

Job Overview

Pulse is currently seeking an experienced Pharmacist to join a hospital team on a long-term locum basis. This role offers the opportunity to work across both ward and dispensary settings within a supportive multidisciplinary environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines, delivering high-quality clinical pharmacy services, and supporting patient care throughout their hospital journey.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical pharmacy input at ward level as part of the multidisciplinary team (MDT)
  • Ensure the safe, appropriate, and legal use of medicines across ward and dispensary settings
  • Undertake medicines reconciliation and support discharge processes, including counselling patients
  • Review prescriptions for safety, appropriateness, and legality, resolving any issues identified
  • Conduct medicines-related consultations with inpatients during admission
  • Support and work alongside medicines management technicians
  • Deliver medication education sessions and support group work on wards
  • Adhere to Trust policies, pharmacy procedures, and national guidelines

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Experience working in a hospital pharmacy setting
  • Strong knowledge of medicines optimisation and clinical governance
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication and patient-facing skills
