We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 6 Locum Senior Dietitian to join our team in Gillingham. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide specialized dietetic services in oncology, critical care, and surgery within a dynamic healthcare environment. This position is available immediately and offers a full-time, onsite contract.

Responsibilities:
As a Band 6 Locum Senior Dietitian you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive nutritional assessments and developing individualized care plans for patients in oncology, critical care, and surgical settings. This includes providing dietary advice, monitoring patient progress, and adjusting care plans as necessary to achieve optimal health outcomes. You will manage a busy caseload, ensuring timely and effective nutrition support for patients. You will collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals within a multidisciplinary team (MDT) to ensure a holistic approach to patient care. Additionally, you will maintain accurate patient records, participate in clinical audits, and contribute to the development of department and service protocols. Your role will also involve supervising dietetic students, providing education and support to patients and their families, and ensuring they understand their nutritional needs and how to manage their diets effectively. A working knowledge of artificial nutrition is essential.

Qualifications and Experiences:

  • Degree in Dietetics and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Proven experience in oncology, critical care, and surgical dietetics.
  • Strong clinical skills in nutritional assessment, care planning, and intervention.
  • Experience in supervising dietetic students.
  • Ability to respond to demand, prioritize work, and manage a caseload in a fast-moving acute environment.
  • Involvement in developing department and service protocols.
  • Experience in managing patients within a multidisciplinary team setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with the latest advancements in dietetics.
