Job description
Are you passionate about AI and eager to work on groundbreaking projects? Do you want to be a major part of a rock-star team in a rapidly growing startup, collaborate with industry leaders, and make a real impact in the legal landscape? Do you want significant ownership in a startup building something people want with real paying users and significant traction? Here's your chance! ## 🏗️ About the role We are looking for super-talented AI engineers to help us build state-of-the-art AI algorithms and products _extremely fast_. You’ll be joining the most lean, talent-dense, and fast-moving engineering team in London. You’ll be responsible for: * **Developing production-ready AI algorithms**. We have developed proprietary algorithms which greatly increase the quality of generated patents. You will be leading the development of new and improved algorithms to push the envelope of what is possible with large language models. * **Building a state-of-the-art evaluation pipeline.** A robust evaluation pipeline ensures that AI outputs are high quality and objectively steers the direction of our R&D team. You will be leading the development of this pipeline and benchmarking the performance of Solve’s proprietary algorithms on large datasets. * **LLM prompt engineering.** Research and implement state-of-the-art prompting methods to maximise the efficacy of our LLM models and algorithms. ## 🚀 Who you are We are a young company of highly motivated, ambitious, and hard-working individuals building a billion-dollar business. Our fundamental motivation is to build a state-of-the-art AI product to assist humans in generating intellectual property and to have mass market adoption of our software. To thrive in this environment, you’ll be motivated to ship product fast - you prioritise speed, are always itching to move faster, and want to put things in the hands of customers to get critical feedback in days, not months. You’re passionate about mass adoption of AI - we’re at the beginning of an exponential curve, and we want to take the latest AI technology and build it into a useful product as quickly as possible. You’re a driven individual with a strong work ethic - our team is committed to going the extra mile, even if it means working long nights and weekends to achieve our goals. You strive for excellence in every aspect of your work - you take ownership of your outcomes and overdeliver on your goals. You’re humble, eager to learn whatever it takes to help your team and customers succeed, and an optimist who thrives in a positive environment. ## 👋 Who you’ll work with [Sanj](https://www.linkedin.com/in/sanj-ahilan-844b33137/) (Chief Research Officer and co-founder): Sanj did his MSci in Physics at the University of Cambridge and his PhD in AI at the Gatsby Unit, UCL. He won awards at top AI conferences, worked on the R&D team at Huawei, and received widespread attention for his contributions to open-source LLM GitHub projects. He joined Magic Carpet AI as employee #4, where he developed AI strategies for trading which deployed millions of capital before being acquired by [Blockchain.com](http://Blockchain.com). [Chris](https://www.linkedin.com/in/chris-parsonson/) (Chief Executive Officer and co-founder): Chris did his undergrad at Imperial College, masters at the University of Cambridge, and PhD at UCL, during which he published 10+ publications and won awards in top AI conferences and journals. He has worked in leading tech organisations, including Dyson, The Alan Turing Institute, and InstaDeep before its acquisition by BioNTech. [Angus](https://www.linkedin.com/in/angus-parsonson-24935914b/) (Chief Technology Officer and co-founder): Angus did an MEng in Computer Science at the University of Bristol where he won a cyber security scholarship at GCHQ before working at Qualcomm. He then joined a London-based hedge fund, Coremont (Brevan Howard). There, he led a small team to build a greenfield trade processing platform which scaled to millions of trades per day. You’ll also work with the rest of our super talented team of AI researchers, software engineers, patent attorneys, and go-to-market experts. ## 🛠️ What you bring As our founding AI engineer, you will have extensive experience building AI solutions and products to solve impressively difficult problems through past projects, designs, or GitHub contributions. **Must haves:** * Expert in Python. * Industry experience of shipping algorithms and/or evaluation pipelines into production. * Experience with prompt engineering and large language models. * Familiarity with back-end development and Postgres databases. * Experience with front-end development (Typescript/React). * Extremely clear writer and communicator. **Nice to haves:** * Publications at top machine learning conferences (e.g. NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML) or in adjacent fields. * Familiarity with popular LLM evaluation frameworks such as [OpenAI evals.](https://github.com/openai/evals) ## 🎁 What we offer * Competitive base salary depending on skill and experience. * Significant equity; we want you to take ownership in Solve Intelligence and share in the success that lies ahead. * Full visa sponsorship. * Opportunity to work with a super smart and ambitious group of people **building something people want**. * Private medical insurance. * Free meals.
