Job description

Company Overview

Avantos AI is pioneering the future of client relationship management, transforming the industry through an AI-driven lens. We are building the first AI-native operating system for financial services, redefining the ways organizations onboard clients, deliver advice, and manage core servicing workflows. Our platform consolidates fragmented data, automates complex processes, and integrates intelligent decision-making into every stage of the client lifecycle.

Backed by Bessemer Ventures and MIT's investment arm, our team unites execution-driven, design-focused founders and leaders from Wharton, MIT, leading design programs, and former unicorn SaaS companies. We are passionate about solving deep industry challenges and developing technology that empowers users to take control of their workflows. If you are driven by client impact, innovative product design, and tackling complex challenges, Avantos offers an environment where you will thrive.

About the Role

Avantos is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Account Director to join our Go-to-Market team, owning the technical and solutions narrative for our most important enterprise financial-institution accounts from first call to signed contract.

We believe the next generation of client onboarding and servicing for wealth management, insurance, banking and other regulated financial institutions will be built on AI-native infrastructure. The GTM team's mission is to prove that value directly with the institutions that need it most.

Reporting to the Head of GTM, this role is a mixture of technical fluency, strategic thinking, and ownership over the full customer relationship. This is one of the first dedicated solutions hires on the GTM team, with real scope to define what the function looks like long term.

In This Role, You Will

  • Own the technical and solutions narrative for a defined portfolio of enterprise financial-institution accounts, from first call to close

  • Serve as the single technical point of contact for every account in your portfolio

  • Engage in discovery and qualification conversations early, working directly with the Head of GTM

  • Scope and run product demos and POCs tailored to each prospect's onboarding and servicing workflows, partnering with solutions, support, and engineering to clear blockers and turn prospect feedback into product decisions

  • Build that demo/POC process into a repeatable playbook, since none currently exists

  • Navigate the multi-stakeholder, compliance-heavy buying processes that come with selling into banks, RIAs, and other regulated financial institutions

  • Keep pipeline and forecast data current in real time

  • Partner with the partnerships team to advance channel-sourced opportunities

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years in a strategic advisory, sales engineering, or hybrid technical-partnership role at a B2B SaaS or fintech company, or equivalent experience in technology/management consulting or digital transformation work

  • Running live product demos and answering technical or integration questions in real time

  • Working or delivering into financial services, wealth management, or another regulated enterprise industry, or genuine curiosity about the space and a fast learning curve

  • Owning complex enterprise engagements or strategic customer relationships from start to finish

  • Working directly with and presenting to C-suite stakeholders at major financial institutions

  • Communicating technical concepts precisely to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Operating without an established playbook or a large team, with real ambiguity to work through

  • Demonstrating strong partnership instincts, with ambition to grow into a strategic leadership or team-building role over time

Nice to Have

  • Experience partnering with channel/partnership teams to source and develop opportunities

  • Time at an early-stage or AI-native software company

  • Fluency in RIA, IBD, or wealth-management operations or technology stacks
