Open Opportunity Fund is a technology venture capital fund focused on investing in and partnering with outstanding Black and Latino founders. Opportunity Fund was founded in June 2020 with a $100 million Fund 1 and successfully invested in over 70 companies and became known as one of the largest and most prominent funds focused exclusively on Black and Latino founders. Fund 1 was supported by the founding LP of SoftBank Group. In May 2023, the fund formally changed its name to Open Opportunity Fund, which symbolizes an evolution to open access to other LPs and organizations to invest in the fund and announced the launch of Fund 2, with a $150 million target. Dr. Paul Judge assumed leadership in 2023 as Chairman after serving as Founding Investment Committee member. Judge and affiliates have entered into an agreement to acquire an ownership stake and become co-owners of the Open Opportunity Fund. This exemplifies diverse participation at all levels: ownership, management, team, and portfolio. There are 75 companies in the Open Opportunity Fund portfolio, including Atomic, Brex, Career Karma, Cityblock Health, Drift, Eight Sleep, Esusu, Greenwood, Lendtable, Mayvenn, Paystand, PlayVS, Praxis Labs, QuickNode, Squire, and Subject. The fund has had seven exits.
