Enspire Bio is a drug discovery company in partnership with the UCLA Metabolism Unified Research Theme to transform academic research into translational development of small molecules and peptidomimetics. Their goal is to fill the gap between basic research and translational development. Enspire Bio has harnessed the powerful ecosystem within the university to bring together a high concentration of cellular energetics, metabolism, and mitochondrial expertise. Their platform is enabled by the collaborative effort between the Metabolism Theme, Technology Development Group, and entrepreneurs to transform the university’s research into a robust therapeutic pipeline to spur innovation and collaboration with pharmaceutical partners. Enspire Bio is currently developing therapeutic programs for fatty liver disease, diabetes and obesity, epilepsy, Parkinson’s, and diseases associated with mitophagy and lysosomal dysfunction.
